I might get flamed for this, but this entire premise has me skeptical

I'm obviously going into it with an open mind, and I won't think this is trash because it's Spitta and Al, but like...it'd be one thing if they decided to actually follow up Covert Coup and went into it with that goal. It's another thing to just make a project called Half Moon Bay and then decide after the fact that it's good enough to be an official sequel to Covert Coup.

Covert Coup is a monster of a project. Suddenly I just have way more expectations. You tell me ahead of time that your body of work is up there with one of the best projects of the entire 2010's?

I mean, I'll give it a fair listen, but my standards are much higher now than they would've been otherwise. If I don't hear joints that hold up to Double 07, Scottie Pippens, The Type, Full Metal, Smoke Break, Success Is My Cologne, etc, I'm gonna be a little bit let down.


Edit: And the funny thing is the few joints I've heard on Instagram reminded me way more of Carrollton Heist or Yacht Rock 2 vibes than Covert Coup vibes.
