Right …. It was the preview I heard months back

knew I wasn’t bugging

You weren't bugging, but I think we all thought you were asking if it had been released yet. Like, this is brand new to streaming platforms, and I don't have Spitta's Patreon or whatever. So it's new to like 99.9% of the world today. If you tried to Shazam it before yesterday you couldn't find any results.

I think a lot of people telling you it was new just genuinely hadn't heard it before. I'd heard a little snippet on Instagram before now. But I had no idea this song was released prior to now.

I believe he had the song playing in the vid where him and Alc were rocking that Diamond X Nautica collab in the summer.

From the snippets I've heard, I'm not getting much of a Covert Coup essence. Of course, those are just snippets. excited nonetheless.
I'm very excited for this and I'm also firmly in the camp that there will never be another Covert Coup, ever. That was a crazy 'lightning in a bottle' moment. I don't think it can ever be duplicated or recreated by anybody.

No doubt, Covert Coup is a '1 of 1' for sure, that's why I used the word "essence". And my expectation derives from the fact that Spitta himself says this project is supposed to be a "Continuance" of a Covert Coup. But sonically, at least, it doesnt sound like it at all. But again, we've only heard 1 track and a snippet so we'll see how it plays out.

Spitta posted a few more snippets of songs off the album. None of them sound so far like Covert Coup. More like Carrollton Heist or the ALC Griselda tracks this new one is sounding like.

When I think ALC Griselda I mostly think of a hard shyt with hard drums...94 Ghost, Rubber Bands, Broken Bottles, Calvin, Gold BBS, They Got Sonny, Shoot Sideways, Fifty One, Plug House, 5 to 50, Piano Love, Ajax, Kool G...and most of the Boldy and ALC joints if you wanna count those. I don't think of a lot of jazzy summer breeze joints when I think of him producing for Griselda.

But I definitely agree this has a jazzier yacht rock vibe.

@WhoShotCha I love Spitta and I'm not trying to say I totally don't believe him. But I honestly think dude made this Half Moon Bay album (I mean even the lead single was called Half Moon Mornings) and then got real stoned and decided to change the name. I feel like if it really sounded like Covert Coup, they would've noticed it when they were recording that shyt.
:manny:
But what I'm saying can easily be misconstrued as hate so I'ma fall back. I can't wait for this shyt. I keep thinking it's this Friday and not next Friday :mjcry:
