I like nice shyt and I know how to get it
Hustle dumbass, it's not rocket science, or quantum physics
Get on task fool, trap till a trillion
Wrote these raps in New Orleans and performed em in New Zealand
Word to Pusha T and that's legal drug dealing
My God, what a feeling
:wow:

Cuz of bars like these, which I can name example after example after example of just dope, vivid narratives he creates on every album. He has his own unique style. Who sounds like Spitta?

Elevator music?

:francis:

Sounds like you just ain't appreciating the flow

:yeshrug:
Took me a long time to appreciate him. I listened to Pilot Talk 1 and 2 and I even liked Covert Coup, but wasn't a big fan still of him as a rapper until maybe 2012-2013. Narratuve is the word you used, and it's perfect. It's not conventional storytelling rap but he is great at putting you in the scene of whatever he's talking about.

"Let the little homie kick it in the auto shop with us, long as he can make store runs and keep his mouth shut...same way I grew up..."

Fly shyt like that. He's got a lot of style. Between the nasally voice and the sort of sleepy flow and the lack of punch lines, he's defintiely a grow on you type rapper unless you're just a heavy smoker that's into the same shyt as him. He's definitely an underrated emcee despite being kinda one dimensional. Even though I like him, I don't really like him for more than 30-40 minute doses. Projects like Covert Coup, Carollton Heist, Pilot Talk 1, Pilot Talk 2, and Cigarette Boats are perfect. You get enough of what amkes him good without it being overkill.

I liked Pilot Talk 3 but I wish it had been like 5-10 mins shorter.

Damn forgot to bump this on my way home to work.. I'll check this out on now

My homie said it didn't stack up to covert coup but it was some good shyt
It isn't quite as good but then again that's basically perfect for what it is and really hard to top. This is a little more laid back but after 4-5 spins, there's not one song on it that I don't like, and overall I'd say the highs aren't quite as high (pun intended), it's solid the entire way through. As beats I was totally floored by The Type, Double 07, and Full Metal. I was floored at Gibbs' verse on Scottie Pippen. But this one has a consistent groove the whole way through and there's nothing to not like about it.

I don't know just yet where I'll rate it among Alc's collab projects, but it's in the better half for sure.

I can't front I hated currency at first. I thought he rapped like he hated his job cause his flow was so lazy and he had no enthusiasm but Covert Coupeville made me a believer. Cigarette Boats is on my all time lists gotta check this out in the am got work tonight

I was the same way. When I heard Covert Coup announced I was confused why Al would use those Chemical Warfare/1st Infantry/Mobb/Lox style street joints on the guy that did Pilot Talk. But he didn't, and I think it was a big turning point in Alc's career, along with Gangrene, in terms of linking up with Oh No, getting out onto his brother Madlib, and making some new growth as a producer.

Speaking of Cigarette Boats, the fukking first joint on is so fire, as is the Styles P joint.

Lol, I haven't smoked in probably a decade and I'ma fan, to keep it real he was a better rapper when weed was a less dominant factor in his persona. If you don't like him you don't like him, keep it moving.
Definitely keeping it moving fam....only checked for this shyt for the production cuz I'm a big fan of alc.... Dude is garbage

Looks like DatPiff re-uploaded it in 256kbps with no tags, in the right tracklist order: Curren$y & Alchemist - Carrollton Heist

Not sure if it's actually 256. Someone used a spectrogram and found that every version out there is basically 128 and to just go ahead and download what has the least gaps between songs and smallest file size, which so far is the playlist from Al's SoundCloud as well as the new DatPiff upload (same file as far as I can tell).

Disappearing Act :whoo:

That Styles x ALC project needs to drop yesterday

Yeah I'd love to get a release date on that. BTW Conway & Westside Gunn were originally on Disappearing Ink. @savoutch heard it. He said it was dope with them on it. Not sure why they got taken off, but I've also heard that they're doing a collab project with Alchemist.
