I recently saw an interview where Spitta was talking about Fetti 2 and how he was waiting on beats from Alchemist but then got blindsided by Gibbs putting out Alfredo. It wouldn't shock me if that lit a fire under him.
As for the promo stuff Spitta actually put out a tweet addressing that recently (not the Gibbs situation specifically), I'll see if I can find it
EDIT:
Interview
Interesting stuff. Seems like Spitts put a lot of effort into OutRunners. It's one of my favorite projects this year. Gold and Chrome in my top 5 songs of the year. I might even like OutRunners more than Fetti, but I hope that Spitta and Gibbs are able to get squared away and work on a Fetti sequel.
I see both their perspectives. I can understand Gibbs wanting to do at least one video, and do more promotion. He seems to go pretty hard on merch, videos, and promoting his albums. Spitta is a little bit more touch and go. But Spitta also seems like the type to be fine to do that, especially if it's asked of him up front.
I don't know when this was recorded, but it sounds like at this time maybe he didn't know Alfredo was recorded. Gibbs didn't steal the bag or anything. He went to Al's crib and hand-picked all the beats himself. One theme seems to be recurring is that Al lies working face to face more than emailing beats. I've heard (even if you're a big name) that you pretty much can't work with him if you aren't willing to do it in person.
