RocNation seems to have completely dropped that paper planes shyt though. I don't see anyone rocking that anymore. Everybody getting rocafella chains not paper plane logo chains
Nah, it’s still around and sells well.

The Paper Planes hat craze died down though that was a huge trend in NYC in like 2016.

But RocNation and Paper Planes are two different brands, especially early on, it looks like you got some insider info, you got proof Emory made the Paper planes logo back in 07?

The only thing Emory worked on was the Paper Planes logo for RN.

They were licensing it out to New Era and other leagues back in '07, couple years after Hov started his run with the Nets. So they had deals with the NBA, MLB and the NFL, to license the planes design on apparel and merch. Iconix sued because they said they were left out of the deal, but owned all of the share rights. The suit got thrown out of court once Jay went back in and contested it.

When he was at DD172, we all basically would be there all day/night. So this is when the first couple Pilot Talk's were being made in 2010. Stalley, Smoke DZA, Mos Def, Ski, etc, would all be there just making music 24/7. Around this same time is when Spitta was trying to get set up for Jet-Life as a label. So he was going through the usual motions to get logos and deals set with Warner.

We were all getting free sh*t from RN back then, so we would have the merch on while we were there. Paper Plane fitted's and the whole thing. He was still working on getting his situation together during that time, which is why the following year, that's when he had the issues with Dame and went over to Warner. The JL logo still wasn't done by the time he recorded Weekend at Burnie's. It came a little after the album dropped and he worked out whatever he needed to with TK and parted ways.

Paper Planes is a lifestyle/clothing brand that Emory designed and the paper plane is not RocNation's logo. Jay wearing the clothing was basically him showing off his boy's brand(which according to the website says it started in 2008).

Take whatever you want from that.

Paper Planes is commissioned through Roc Nation.

It's the flagship for Roc Nation Apparel and Lifestyle and owned by RN. After Rocawear ended, some of the staff from there came over with Jay and started Roc Nation. After Emory came home, it was officially dubbed "Paper Planes" and he was given his own lifestyle brand to push with it. But the logo itself has been up in the Roc Nation offices since they were built. It's everywhere in there. In all the offices, right when you walk in. NY, LA and London. But like you said, he's had it for 15-16 years.

if neither of the parties (spitta/emory/hov) designed it themselves by hand why would you even take what they saying seriously?

the actualy designers for both parties would be able to tell you

this is no different than a producer selling the same beat mulitple times to different people, or remaking a beat they heard somewhere else and passing it off as their own, the buyer wouldn't know that it went down like that

How you going to be in business and not need relationships? It’s counterproductive to think that way but even then, If you think your logo was sharked, there’s absolutely nothing, I mean NOTHING stopping you from handling it with lawyers.

If you don’t feel it’s important enough to handle through the legal system what’s the point of insinuating that one of the most successful individuals stole your design.
you dont need relationships with everyone.

Dude it’s not battle rap.

If you want to feed blogs because it’s imperative that you respond to some random white woman named star ship chick on the IG was necessary, I won’t hold you:hubie:

Spitta is my guy, but the Roc Nation logo pre-dates Jet-Life by a ridiculous amount of years.

When Roc Nation started and had the logo, Spitta wasn't even doing his thing with Dame and DD172 yet. His logo wasn't even made until he got the Warner deal. Which was around 2011. The Roc Nation logo was made in 2007. When Ski was working with Spitta at DD172 around 2010, he was shopping around with designers for the logo. Emory had already worked on the RN logo years before and had merch with the logos on them being sold.

He's weird AF for this one.

Ypu are wrong.

@Awesome Wells

Currency had his logo.
When he was on the free ym website.
Where I had the misfortune as a listener.
Where I used to give his music.
the low quality reviews his music deserved then.

Which predated that time period you quoted by almost five years.
Currency and tyga been around way before weezy blew up.
As I had to endure their low quality releases and reviewed them as such. Yet Currency was already mindful.
of being the currency people somehow like today.
