The Athletic is reporting that Steph will miss the next three games
Warriors’ Steph Curry will miss multiple games with hamstring strain
SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors will be without star point guard Steph Curry for Game 2 in Minnesota against the Timberwolves on Thursday night, the team announced Wednesday.
Curry suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain in the series opener and was immediately ruled out. An MRI on Wednesday morning confirmed the diagnosis. The team said it will reevaluate Curry in one week, meaning he will miss at least the next three games.
He was absolutely crushed,” Steve Kerr said after seeing Curry with an ice pack on his leg at halftime.
The Warriors were able to survive without Curry to take a 1-0 series lead. He left with Golden State up by 10 points in the second quarter, and thanks to the team’s defense, they were able to power through for a 99-88 road win. That gives them a little breathing room while Curry’s hamstring heals.
Curry’s absence will put additional pressure on Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and a reformed rotation. There’s a three-day break between Games 5 and 6, giving Curry an elongated recovery window if the Warriors are still alive.
