This shyt is super deep. This is NOT for everybody that posts here, but there are a few people here that would find this interesting and insightful.

Where the word "Motherfukker" originated from. How they would put a sack over a males head and force him breed with his mother.

Django based on a real life person/story "Dangerfield Newby"

No black actors nominated/winning an award for the movie Django:
- What do you expect, this is America. And its not just the Actors, its the Teachers, the Scientist, ect.

The scene in Django where the dog ripped the man apart and how the German's used it against the Jews

Dangerfield Newby - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dangerfield Newby (1815 – 1859) was the oldest of John Brown's raiders, one of five black raiders, and the first of his men to die at Harpers Ferry, Virginia.[1] Born a slave in Fauquier County, Virginia, Newby married a woman also enslaved. Newby was later freed by his Scottish father, but his wife and seven children remained in bondage.[2] A letter found on his body revealed the motive for joining John Brown and the raid on Harpers Ferry.

Newby's wife was the slave of Jesse Jennings, of Arlington or Warrenton, Virginia. She and her children were sold to Louisiana after the raid. Newby had been unable to purchase the freedom of his wife and seven children. Their master raised the price after Newby had saved the $1,500 that had previously been agreed on. Because all of Newby's other efforts had failed he hoped to free them by force. Harriet's poignant letters, found on his body, proved instrumental in advancing the abolitionist cause. Newby was six foot two.

On the 17th of October, 1859, the citizens of Harpers Ferry set to put down the raid. Harpers Ferry manufactured guns but the citizens had little ammunition, so during the assault on the raiders they fired anything they could fit into a gun barrel. One man was shooting six inch spikes from his rifle, one of which struck Newby in the throat, killing him instantly. After the raid, the people of Harpers Ferry took his body, stabbed it repeatedly, and amputated his limbs. His body was left in an alley to be eaten by hogs.[3] In 1899 the remains of Newby-plus remains of nine other raiders-were reburied in a common grave near the body of John Brown in North Elba New York.

Dangerfield Newby's descendants are still alive today; Tyler Newby currently lives in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Josh Newby lives in a suburb of San Francisco, California and Drew Szrom lives in Massachusetts.

[edit] Letter from Harriet NewbyThe following letter was found on Dangerfield Newby's body after the failed Harpers Ferry raid:[4]

BRENTVILLE, August 16, 1859.
Dear Husband.
I want you to buy me as soon as possible for if you do not get me somebody else will. The servants are very disagreeable. They do all that they can to set my mistress against me. Dear Husband you are not the trouble I see these last two years. It has been like a troubled dream to me. It is said that the Master is in want of monney. If so I know not what time he may sell me. Then all my bright hopes of the future are blasted. For there has been one bright hope to cheer me in all my troubles, that is to be with you. For if I thought I should never see you on this earth, life would have no charm for me. Do all you can for me which I have no doubt you will. I want to see you so much. The children are all well. The baby cannot walk yet. The baby can step around any thing by holding on to it, very much like Agnes. I must bring my letter to close as I have no news to write. You must write soon and say when you think you can come

Your affectionate Wife
HARRIET NEWBY.

It may be "hipster trash"n your opinion but dikk Gregory made an interesting point in that it gets people talking on the more harsh, inhumane treatment of Black people during that time period.

We need movies that discuss our glory years as Kingdoms, Warriors, and things of that nature but this movie (even tho it was made by a white dude that tries to abuse the word ******) can still serve a purpose.

Subs for later

One aspect I wanted to comment on loosely related to the discussion.

If you've ever read Mark Twain's "Tom Sawyer" and "Huckleberry Finn" books and then see the movie put out by Disney, you can see the white agenda of trying to make the slavery days not seem as harsh as it was. There was not 1 utterance of the word nikka in the movie by Disney, but it was littered all throughout the book, and all throughout the mouths of white people during that time. Every variation of the word imaginable as well. shyt is scusting how powerful that media is. :scusthov:

Also, dont get me started at the lack of omission of the attitude and conditioning of white American thought during slavery until the Civil rights movement. shyt is deep. At work now, so Ill try to elaborate more when I get time.

dikk Gregory says some off the wall stuff sometimes, I'll listen to it later. What he doesn't talk about is that Tarantino has a history of using the n word. In his script for True Romance, its used repeatedly. In Reserivor Dogs, and Pulp Fiction its used gratuitously. I don't have a problem if its used rarely, I just read a book by Jay McInerney, where some of the black characters use it. But why does Tarantino feel the need to use in incessantly? Tarantino also declines to use other derogatory words, like c*nt, which ryhmes with bunt, just replace the first letter with a c, or derogatory terms for Jews like kike, or himey. If he did, the J-J-J-J Jew-Unit would be on him like white on rice. If you watch Tarantino's films, you would have no idea that those words exist.

That's bullshh man. Black people have been singing that song for decades now and in about ten years the ongoing degradation of slavery will be continuing. And not one movie on our "glory years" will be made.

The cat is out out the bag breh. Holocaust is treated accordingly as the brutal atrocity it was. Jews don't need a comedy to have a discussion about the holocaust. Slavery has now turned into a joke. It has been equated to the NFL combine, Mexicans crossing the border and now a major picture slapstick comedy. The plight of Africans Americans has become a joke ala laugh at my pain. There is no reversing it. This controversy will boil over and blacks in entertainment will continue missing the mark.

Could Spike had made this movie and have it been this well received? :aicmon:. Bet you the same negroes on Quentins side would take up the position of Spike Lee.

-saw dikk gregory and I had to dap it based on principle.

-the movie was also influenced by the original western 'Django' and the original actor made a cameo in the wrestling seen.

-i understand that it's somewhat unsettling, to say the least, how about tarantino has used the word '******' is his movies but when gregory said "did you see lincoln?", i feel like the affect is dead. nikka.

Interesting point, especially about the "inside joke" thing. Part of me feels that Quintin does shyt just so he can get a pass to say "******". You right though, there probably aren't gonna be many conversations on the slaves inhumane treatment from this movie. Most of the convo was about the amount of times the word "******" was used in the movie, not the Mandingo fighting, the dog torture scene, the chains being so tight that they cut the skin...none of that.
