He hasn't proved what Mahomes has proved.

I do think Dak is a talented quarterback. I guess it might make sense to give him a strong contract with tons of incentives to get close to Mahomes money. But if I were Dak in a situation like that, I would want the incentives to be structured in a way that it would be difficult for coaching/management to sabotage him, if possible.

i dont recall a white player's alleged contract negotiation requests ever being publicized in this manner. i cant think of too many examples where the media is telling me this white athlete is requiring to be paid just as much or close to the money as Player ____
He plays for the Cowboys. That’s mainly why this shyt gets so much attention.

People literally don't see the hypocrisy in their logic and it's mindboggling.

They are literally asking Dallas to make the same mistake that both Philly and the Rams did, who both had to give up assets to offload those contracts. Dak is a fellow Bulldog alum, but he isn't worth amount of money that he's asking for.
Those teams only made those mistakes in hindsight. Both qb's were playing at a relatively high-level when given those deals.

I will say this.... I do think that it's a bit hypocritical that dudes are complaining that Dak should be Goff and Wentz like money while also making the complaint that both of those mentioned players are overpaid. They weren't worth the contract that they got and neither Dak for the amount that he's asking for. The fact that they did get paid should not be justification for Dak getting it as well according to the logic a lot of people on this site.

If Dak gets paid, then the same people championing for him will be making threads talking about how his contract has hamstrung the team and he is overpaid.

yea "bu bu but other teams signed QBs to big deals they instantly regretted" ain't the most convincing argument. I also think the Wentz and Goff signings were influenced by the amount of draft capital already invested in those guys.
Cowboys should just go the Cousins route and tag Dak until it's no longer feasible then let him walk

True, but they weren't worth the contracts that they got at the time even if the market said that's what you pay them. It's the same situation with Flacco when he won the Superbowl. He played extremely well during that playoff series, yet everybody knew that he wasn't worth the contract amount that he was asking for and got.

How did that workout for the redskins?

No need in paying QB $30 to $40 million dollars a year if you don't have faith that he can be the guy for you long term. A lot of teams make that same mistake just because they think there isn't better options out there. Sign a QB for less and build pieces around him to full utilize their skillset.

True, but it also didn't work out with the team that he went to either now did it? So essentially Washington was right as Minnesota would offload his contract if they could.
Not really true because with Cousins they made the playoffs and get put out. They just did the same thing without him. Unless y'all claiming with Kirk they'd made it further somehow.

Still doesn't change the fact that Minnesota has been putting out rumors and feelers that they weren't a fan of paying him the amount of money that he got. Look up Kirk Cousin's numbers in primetime games and tell me that he's worth the contract that he got? That's the entire point.

Would they not be a much better team with kirk cousins right now ?
No as evidence by the Vikings. He is who he is similar to Dak. These dudes are all bus drivers that can only get so far. Same reason Smith had to get replaced by a potentially better at the time Mahommes. Its only so far these types can go outside of outlier situations.
