But, since you want to keep going down that route Juneteeth was invented in Houston/Galveston. First documented celebrations happened at emancipation park in 3rd ward(oldest park in Texas) .
One of the biggest in Dallas is the annual Black Rodeo held in Fair Park every Juneteenth. It's the oldest black rodeo in Texas. Is this black enough for you?

That is NOT the oldest black rodeo in Texas. The oldest one is believed to be Ames, TX's Mother of Mercy Catholic Church Easter Rodeo founded in 1937 that's predates the dallas black invitation rodeo founded in 1985 by 48 years. LMAO!

Though, I will give you props for bringing up the invitational black rodeo. I'm glad it exist and might have to check it out one day. Still Ames Easter Rodeo is much older.
And Houston has:
- The oldest black trailriding association in the nation, the Prairie View Trailriders founded in 1957.
- The Taylor Stevenson cowboy Ranch, the only black owned Texas century ranch in the entire state.
- A whole Freedmen town settlement founded by actual black cowboys who rode the notorious Chisholm Trail in 1867 in Texas City(the only one I can think of it's kind).
So, yeah I'd say H-town still has y'all beat in that department. Which was my point from the very beginning. That Houstons black culture seems more prominent, not that dallas doesn't have any at all.

Word. There's comments of mine where I have said the same. Like I said, I agree with you. But on that particular thread that you're referencing, I didn't think it was the right time for that type of engagement. You know the saying - "Don't kick someone when they're down" The woman was just murdered and emotions are high. I didn't think the back and forth was conducive bc I've been there with it myself. But on a thread like this, where it's more research and fact based - there's no issue.
My wife was shocked at how friendly Mexicans are to black people. She from LA Florence and 8th ave, and she said Mexicans be hateful out there. She done made 7 girlfriends since she been in Texas and 4 of them are ese broads. All the ese's I met from LA that move out here start hanging out with black people and dating black women, ever LA ese I met was through my potnas or at work or through my wife family and they was always cooler with me than the ese's out here.
I ask them all the time why they don't get along with black people in LA, and they say back in the day when the numbers were somewhat more even nikkas in LA used to SMASH ese's. Like smash them nikkas so bad they hate LA nikkas to this day, they admitted they used to take some epic ass whoopins bruh. That's where the hate comes from. nikkas never smashed on ese's like that out here cause we never had to cause we didn't force them to not keep their culture like in LA. We always tried to coexist with ese's to make money. nikkas made LA ese's become off brand nikkas to survive bro, ese's out here still get to be Mexican as fukkin hell, OOOOOOO HA HA HA HA face ass. It wasn't always like that in LA is the point I'm tryna make.

And Iono about LA mexicans taking on black culture(they all do to some extent), when SoCal mexicans more than anywhere else seem to try to reject as much "black influence" as possible which is why they constantly shade Chi, Bay, and TX Mexicans for being so culturally influenced by African-Americans(adopting AAVE accents, car culture, saying 'nikka' etc etc). SoCal is considered the home of Chicano culture, while east TX cities like Houston and Dallas don't have any despite the large hispanic population. They're either paisas or culturally blaxican. lol These SoCal Mexicans even got the never to accuse SoCal blacks of stealing gangs, lowriders, and tattoos from them lol
TX mexicans, especially H-town mexicans would look stupid trying to go after us while ridin slabs, sippin drank, jammin screw, rockin js, and jerseys. Like you mentioned before, they're literally carbon copies of us.
But, don't get it twisted TX mexicans are still just as racist as SoCal Mexicans, they just more covert with it. They still can't stand when their women get with brothas.
That's how I feel - there's certain places where I have visited/traveled to where I will never ever go back again. The energy and vibe is completely off- and I get real uncomfortable. Hard to explain but it's like a feeling of doom. But when I got home from those places - I did research into the towns and areas with the history of racism, massacres, riots; it all made sense why. I don't care what anyone says on this thread - there are areas prevalent in the United States with a history of racist practices culminating in mass destruction and death, where it has an effect on the spirit. Well the city of DALLAS unenterred n moved the 1st n only black freedmans cemetery to widen 75.....yes they gave us a beautiful memorial but i dont c them digging up n moving no yt people cemeteries. Hell its a old jewish n Confederate cemetery right n the heart of south DALLAS that is fancy af despite the dreery n drab surroundings
