1. every playbook has a run/pass option implemented to give the QB the option to opt out of either depending on what he sees. Romo checking out of the run in the GB game was actually the perfect play call if you look at how GB's defense was set. Romo just made a horrible throw.
2. so Kyle Orton wanted to be the hero too right? I mean, he threw the ball 46 times against the eagles
3. you didnt read my post. i didnt say the cowboys wanted to score fast. i stated that when they are DOWN in games in the second half, when Romo has control of the offense, they score in less than two minutes. they score fast when they are LOSING in the 4th quarter, hence the million and one close games Romo and the Cowboys are always in. my point in bringing this fact up was to point out that Romo runs the hurry up and can score quickly when we are down, opposed to when Garrett is trying to always outsmart somebody.
4. theres no proof as to why Romo was more involved in the offense. the majority were shytting on Romo saying "he doesnt care about winning and Jerry put in his clause he has to put in more Peyton manning time." now its "He wanted more control to be the hero." which one is it? personally, yeh, if I were Romo I'd want more involvement too after 2012 seeing as how Garrett kept calling his Air COryell plays despite the offensive line. Romo was getting murdered standing back there waiting for plays to develop thanks to Garrett's ineptitude.
Jerry invest in SKILL positions. yes, romo is surrounded with talented targets in Dez, Witten, and I guess Cole Beasley (since someone considered him a weapon). but it doesnt mean jack shyt if you don't build from the inside out. you just reinforced my point of WHY the cowboys have been mediocre since 1996. Jerry can give Romo Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant lined up opposite, and Wes Welker in the slot and it doesnt mean a damn thing if the offensive line can't protect the QB and we are running an Air Coryell based offense. this is why the WR position is becoming somewhat overrated. when I say overrated, what I'm saying is based on the way the league has changed where defenders cant even touch WR's/TE's, having big name WR's isn't always important as long as the QB has time to throw.
first of all, in those two losses, Romo has thrown a pick in only one of them so get your facts straight (Denver). The other loss, Romo was 4 TDs 0 Ints, 400+ yards. Ok so Romo makes a mistake towards the end of the game. QBs make mistakes at the end of games. Tom Brady did the same exact thing. You know the difference? his defense came up with a STOP (quick 3 and out) and gave Brady the ball back so he could drive down the field and score and have you clowns chanting 'Brady Da Gawd.' you know what Romo's defense did? gave up two first downs and allowed the broncos to milk the clock.
in the second loss, which romo threw ZERO INts, the Giants move down the field and score (not surprising. btw, they score 13 points in less than 3 min). Romo has zero time outs, and only 40 seconds on the clock. Romo drives the team DOWN THE FIELD, and puts us in FG rang. We kick the winning FG and it goes in, but Coughlin calls a time out. We rekick, and JPP blocks the FG ending the game. that damn Romo, he fukked up again
ive already stated Romo deserves blame, but you dudes fail to realize that when all these other qbs have mistakes, they have other people to pick up the slack whether it be a defense, ST or a run game.
its funny how coli nikkas suck Russel Wilson's D like there's no tomorrow despite the fact that until the 3rd quarter of the SB (Seahawks were up 26-2 for 3 quarters),
Russell Wilson only had thrown ONE TD pass the entire post season . Thats right, ONE FRIGGIN TD. Please conjure a scenario in which Romo wins 3 games only throwing 1 TD pass.
I was at the denver game and afterwards ended up watching the night game which was the Texans vs Niners.
Colin Kaepernick by the start of the 4th quarter was 6/15 with only 38 passing yards. His 49ers were up 34-3. can you think of any scenario where the cowboys would EVER be up like that with Romo only throwing for 34 yards?
anyway, here's something else for yall to think bout even tho i know it'll just be ignored becuz as Joe Budden said "your mind is already made up before you try it."
since 2009 in December and January games (you kno, the months where people say romo chokes the most), Romo has a QB rating over 100
twelve times. The Cowboys are 6-6 in those games
during that SAME TIME, when Peyton Da Gawd Manning, Colin Kaepernick, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Phillip rivers, Joe Flacco, Alex Smith, Andy Daulton, and Matt Schaub have a QB rating over 100 in December and January games,
they have combined to lose only 6 games total . their combined record is
94-6
