No. He doesn't like how he's always asked about Jay, but when people interview Jay, they're too scared to ask him the same kinds of questions.

And y'all gotta stop being corny with this "relevancy" thing. This dude is responsible for bringing Jay to the masses and Kanye too. Nobody would even give Ye a chance. Dame did. Without Dame, we don’t get Just Blaze or even Curren$y either. Problem with the casuals, is that too many people spend more time hating on the legacies of these people, than respecting what they've actually brought to the culture. Dame is responsible for way too many legends existing for nobodies to be hating on him, like he owes them money or some sh*t, lol.
Who exactly are these people that are afraid to ask Jay about Dame? :dahell:

Why don’t they ask about Kane and Jaz while they’re at it. Irv Gotti. Biggs. Or all the other people that’s been instrumental in his career?

Cause they rank very low on the list of topics they wanna talk to Jay about cause he’s done so much shyt in his career. Like asking about J. Cole, Kanye, Beyoncé, Lebron, Rihanna and the list goes on all ranks higher than Dame. Then add multiple high profile deals, charities, businesses, brands, NFL, US presidents and whatever the fukk he’s doing.

Now if he goes on Matt Hoffa or MReck, Dame and Jaz, and other seriously irrelevant people like that photographer and Flex might rank high. But the chance of him going to a show that thinks Choke or Dame gossip are as important as prison reform or billion dollars deals is minimal.

And it’s 2023. People shyt on Dame for what he’s been saying for the past 20 years. Should people just disregard what people do or say cause they’re good at something :skip:

What’s being a solid talent scout (in the past) got to do with being a good or shytty person. So you love Trump too for the great business he did? Kells? Who else?

Actually DD172/BlackRoc was a powerhouse for Spitta Krit Mos DZA and several others. That whole product should have gone further but surely behind the scenes shyt was iffy.

It wasn't a "powerhouse" by any acceptable definition of the word or context. He had some minor success running an indie label/art house and it imploded when everyone realized he was a snake. None of those albums sold particular well, none of the art shows did particular well either. But there was definitely some potential there if they had managed to secure financing from a major label.

Ultimately this is the problem with Dame. Since the Roc breakup he has what, at least ten ventures or businesses he has launched? DD172 was the only legitimate, non-embarrassing one (although the end was certainly embarrassing). The rest were half assed, street corner hustler ideas that made no sense in the grand scheme of things. Selling motor oil? Creating your own personal Netflix? A cooking show?

He's talking about out growing people yet this man on record saying he doesn't save money because whenever he gets some, he spends it on a new business. He's on record clowning stocks. He's a loser who would rather play childish games than grow the fukk up. All while his former partners make obscene amounts of money lol. Time to admit he's a loser.

Dame was a BIG part of the reason why the ROC got off the ground but he wasn't the talent and is good at certain things....

He could of easily took royalities or payments from the ROC in the background of been like a board memeber or whatver...but thats not him he wants to push things through and create...nothing lasts and stays the same tho...

It's crazy how Dame has a way better relationship with Kanye than he does with Jay. Despite all the things Kanye's said and done over the years, Dame still talks about him like a close friend and has a lot of respect for him. Have they ever had a falling out?
yeezy admitted he was disloyal to dame and apologized to him. He made a decision that was best for his career at the time but made sure to never disrespect dame and even worked with him on some projects later on. Jay ended up shytty on yeezy too lol

This joint only got a little over 100k views in 3-4 days? I thought, the way it's being discussed on my Facebook/IG feed, this ish had the rap gossip lane on smash this whole week. I only clicked it to give it a view, Dame full of sh!t 100% but I still fukk with him for some reason, lol, he be talking that sh!t even tho he frontin...in true Harlem hustlin ass niggy fashion.

Bullsh!t.

If he was that individually critical to Jays success why he ain’t make another Hov?
tell me how jay makes it in rap otherwise
no label wanted to sign him and he was tryin since the 80s lmao he was already in his late 20s.

Dame took a chance on him, because dame pretty much takes a chance on everyone when they come with an idea.

and that "make another hov" narrative is da dumbest shyt ever lol he doesnt need to make someone else post jay to validate everything he did lmao

and we all saw how dame barked on executives ON BEHALF of jay, so ofcourse they wouldnt fukk with him when they no longer needed to.

These labels never last long. So I think it's tough to say. Average Hip Hop "boutique" label with success usually doesn't stick around longer than 7-8 years. So they're not meant to last forever. They build up the value and then sell. I think Roc ended when it was supposed to. The only thing working out at the time they sold, was Kanye. I don’t think there was an issue with letting Dame do what he wanted. It was a matter of loyalty and being real about the plans. Jay worked out a deal to get Biggs and Dame out of there, where he could still oversee the label and other labels under Def Jam.

Problem is, he worked this deal out with the same people who had beef with Dame. I think the label would've ended eventually anyway, so going about it that way was mad shady.
Yup
Most labels get maybe a 2 to 3 year. Roc A Fella got 10 years which isn't the norm.

And he was at the video shoot and didn't step to the nikka. Ol "Nah, I'mma really show R Kelly by dancin all in the video but he better not stand next to me while I'm doin it " ass niga.

They ran up on Kelly later at MSG. That's when the cops came and shut the whole show down.

He shouldn’t be in the video period :dead:

Dude fukked my Gf when she was 14 but it’s all good cause I wasn’t seen in any shot near him in the video :heh:

Nah, the video was shot a year before Dame was even with Aaliyah. He didn't like Kelly from way before that. Wanted nothing to do with dude. Once he got with Aaliyah and she told him about all that sh*t from back in the day. That's when Dame and his people ran up on him the next time they saw him. One of their guys got arrested and pleaded guilty to also pepper-spraying Kelly that night. That ended the whole tour.
