Why is Khaled popular?
Its not because of talent...its just him being good at marketing himself.

Fab is an over achieving mixtape rapper (and im a big Fab fan)...
...none of those dudes have/had the personality to blow up.

People know Khaled because of him being all in the camera...not for his great albums.

Flex is big because of his show...even still...he's primarily known as a NYC Dj...
...nothing wrong with that.
People know Khaled from the songs and shyt, the same way they know dj drama. The being all in the camera shyt came years later.

'Do it Again" was hot, but really only because it was a Jay song in the right time, that Jay usually dropped, and it had Beanie Sigel and Amil on it (when she was still considered a commodity), it wasn't a major single. Because of bootlegging, they redid the album, near the even of it's release, and Do It Again was one of those tracks. I want to say "Is That Your bytch" may have been considered as the first single. Big Pimpin was one of those tracks too, that was recorded late.

So, Jay came out and did his usual numbers, and had a hot album, but Bg Pimpin came and it gave it the second wind, that carried it all the way to Summer 2000, and followed up with "I Just Wanna Love You", what a run Jay was on, in retrospect, and I watched it all live.

I don't know if I even want to watch this.

Can't leave out Hey Papi off the Nutty Professor soundtrack. That was a banger that summer as well.
