Jay-Z & Dame are both a$$holes. Only difference is one was expendable.

And for the record, Jay DID steal Kanye from Dame. If it was up to Jay, Kanye would still be in the basement looping up samples.

:what:

Steal him? That's just stupid. Lets remember, Kanye belonged to a label owned by Dame AND Jay. So because Dame may have been more eager to let Ye rap, he had some type of ownership over him?

Lets not forget how we came to know who Kanye was - because of beats he made for a Jay-Z album.

You're Kanye...the Roc is breaking up...you gonna roll with one of the biggest rappers of all time who is still very much in demand, or you gonna roll with Dame? Don't be stupid.

Exactly, it would take an absolute waste man to pick Dame at that point!

Specially when it was common that dame wasnt liked much in the industry

Stop being dense nikka. Of course I would fukk over Dame and go with Jay. When it comes to money, it aint no friends. But I would be real enough to admit I fukked over Dame.

Jay wasn't fukkin with Kanye beforehand....Dame was....Kanye got hot, Jay decided he wanted to fukk with him then. Its nothing else to talk about. Im tired of arguing with you hoe nikkas. Stop quoting me.

First I read the link as ...

"Hip-hop mogul Damon Dash claims he's deep in debt and close to eviction from his CAMEL home - NY Daily News"

I thought Hov was his landlord for a sec :lupe:

Let me help this niqqa @Malik out

West: First of all, it was just my whole look — my whole aesthetic was very un-Roc-A-Fella. I had Italian shoes, my size medium T-shirts. I dress kind of like a producer, like all producers dress like this. Picture how it looks with me busting a hard rap with a tight T-shirt on. And I'm rapping to Jay-Z, I'm rapping to the greatest and one of the more gangster rappers out there. I was like, "Yeah, Jay," and I've got the suction-cup T-shirt on. He's looking like, "Yo, I don't think this is gonna work right here."

Sway: Jay actually said that to you?

West: No, but he had that look in his eyes.

They were expecting [my rapping] to be outright terrible. So that was just such a shocker to them that I was actually not wack. And Dame Dash figured out a way that he thought it could work. He said I would be like the hip-hop Babyface, we could do an album and it could be like The Chronic, and we can put Cam'ron on it, Jay on it. You know, he's just a mastermind.

Sway: So Dame Dash pretty much put his stamp on you and validated you, in a sense. When the Roc-A-Fella team broke up recently, you chose to stick with Jay-Z. Why did you choose to stick with him when it seems that Dame was the one who supported you in the beginning? Do you think that's disloyal?

West: [He pauses.] Um, yeah.

Sway: You do think it's disloyal?

West: Yup. But you gotta make that decision.

How you figure Jay wasn't fukkin with Ye? nikka he made beat for the Blueprint! Just because he was hesitant to co-sign him as a rapper? Ye had to prove himself. But I don't see how you say he fukked over Dame. Ye owed his success to Jay as much as Dame if not more. He did tracks for one of Jays biggest albums. You acting like Ye belonged to Dame or some dumb sh!t. Fukkouttahere.

I think Dame's problem was that he stretched his money too thin, by trying 100 different things when the music thing was dying.

He has a proven track record for getting things done in the music industry/entertainment industry, but he's an a$$hole and that way of doing business as an executive is dying out. He's not the entertainer that Puff is so is not like he can market himself.

 Good job not posting the rest.

West: Yup. But you gotta make that decision. I felt like with the relationship that me and Jay built after I was on Roc-A-Fella, we had built a different type of relationship, it was a working musical relationship because of the production, and I built more like a business relationship with Dame because of all the ventures he wanted to involve me with. And not to be cliché, but it's like I was between a rock and a hard place. And it was just like if your parents were to divorce.

Dude's relationship was the same with both of them--a business relationship.

Jay was the music. Dame was everything else.
