moments I can remember in my 30ish years of listening to hip-hop. My brother who wasn't even into rap heavy called me up asking if I'd heard of him, and that he was signed to Dre. I was like
"the fukk?"Dame gave Puffy the idea for Revolt tv too
Im not even a Dame hater...but dude will say some real shyt, and then the next sentence utter complete bullshyt.
I'm done with Dame and all his dikk riders
this nikka did not believe in Kanye, he was gonna let Kanye have an album with all the rocafella artist on there rapping on his beats
He made Through the Wire with his own money and even threw a party to promote it that was huge without rocafella's help
he made himself that's why Jay fukked with him and not the other roc artist, because kanye made himself
nikkaz trying to rewrite history Kanye did himself and the ROc got on board after he made himself hot
One thing I will say, Dash believed and rode with Yeezus when nobody did
...and look where it got him...in the bushes, where culture vultures try to avoid![]()
ye dont owe dame shyt, he helped build the roc
:lool:
Who's heard of Creative Control? "Big shout to Puff for pulling that off. Pause" He's a grown man still using pause. :heston:

I dunno when cats started to listen to Eminem but I was up on him around '97 or so, when "5 Star Generals" and all his Wake Up Show shyt dropped....and if you told me he'd eventually sell 10 million records I would've thought you were high out of your fukking mind.
Him signing to Dre was one of the mostmoments I can remember in my 30ish years of listening to hip-hop. My brother who wasn't even into rap heavy called me up asking if I'd heard of him, and that he was signed to Dre. I was like
"the fukk?"
Hell, I would've put money on Black Star blowing up over Eminem back then, without a second guess. They were a hell of a lot more polished.
That would've been a losing bet but it wasn't readily apparent to me anyway, that he'd blow up regardless. Nor anyone that I knew.
Kanye I wasn't really up on that much until "Through The Wire" dropped so I can't speak on him either way.
Fred.
kanye didnt help build chit.
yall dudes is rewriting history like crazy.

How any hot beats did Dame make, how many hot verses did he wrote
you sound stupid ass hell, you acting like Dame was a Barry Gordy type of exec coming up with a business model
he road jay-z coat tails until he shook off and now he wanna take credit for Kanye when he's on video admitting HE OVERLOOKED and Kanye did everything himself, and he was proud of him because that's why he would've done I posted it already
whats with you lame ass dudes coming out of nowhere throwing shots for no reason? you mad cuz you playing with your hand tonight?
and youre the one that sounds stupid seeing that i never even insinuated that dame was a barry gordy type. you have to be a real dikkhead to even assume that i was insinuating anything of that nature.
kanye & just blaze were not the back-bone of the roc. their beats were popular, but their production wasnt vital during that time period when the roc started taking over. it wasnt a situation like say mannie fresh/cash money, BBTP/no limit, swizz/ruff ryders, hitmen/bad boy, dre & daz/death row, etc.
that wasnt the case. they were important to the roc but not that important when the roc was starting to take over in those '00-01 years. not to mention that rocafella used a plethora of other producers, whether in-house or out-house. especially when it came to making singles.
blaze & kanye moreso helped put rocafella over the top. NOT on top.
The Roc didn't take over shyt until Just Blaze and Kanye were the main producers you moron
I'm not throwing shots because you make dumb ass claims saying Kanye help building the roc is rewriting history when it's not
when people think of the Roc they think of the soulful production nothing else
Kanye made his money as a producer and then invested in himself as a RAPPER
The Driven video states that Dame was gonna let him do an album only in Name with all the other artist on their rapping his beats just to keep him happy so he would stay on as a producer, never thought he was good rapper
kanye had other plans of course and took matters into is own hands
why don't you watch it
yes you are throwing shots. you sound like a twerp talking chit behind a computer for no reason. your first words towards me were random insults. smh. get a life.
the roc was already on top before they started running with the soul samples all like that, you little nitwit.
f*ck a driven video. im not even apart of that side-argument that youre referring too. learn how to read and follow text.
edit: i just clicked on the video and they gave no sense of any sort of timeline. they just rushed thru it within 30 seconds. didnt even mention how they started pushing him as a rapper as far back as "paid in full".
Not true..in fact..he wasn't even Rocafella's go to producer..it was Just Blaze.lets be reality. in the early 2000's, dude was destined to blow with or without the roc simply because of all the quality production he was putting out. He was gonna release his own album just off that alone. and we all know he had plenty of hot beats back then.
