Em initially started out flirting with rawkus records....if you think that without "biggs" Kanye would today be some no name MC/producer today, you've been in a coma for the last 12 years. The roc signed 'ye, because they recognized a potential cash cow. They gave kanye a shot's worth of attention and opportunity, and he turned it into an ocean.

so you think kanye & eminem wouldve blew up like they did via rawkus records?

yall are delusional.

3. Yes. Dame did help Kevin Harts career. Kevin is from Philly. Dame put him on "Paper Soldiers", which helped raise his profile considering he was a nobody then. I'm guessing the people in State Prop helped Kevin Hart get in that movie seeing they're all from Philly.

That's it.
That movie isn't why he's known today. He was known in comedy circles, because he hung out with Patrice and his crew. Soul Plane was Hart's big break. He even said so himself. Paper Soldiers went straight to DVD. There is even no record of Paper Soldiers even being in theaters

no....nicca. Its just a ridiculous leap of logic to suggest that because Kanye was interested in Rawkus in the beginning, he would have remained on that level his whole career. These are two of the biggest rap stars in history...they would have figured things out regardless, lol

no niccas.

they wouldnt have been able to connect to their main fanbases if they were signed to rawkus.

most of kanye & eminem's fans dont even follow rap like that. they never heard of no rawkus records.

the rocafella and dr dre cosigns & collabos did wonders for these guys. and then from there, they were able to tap into their main bases & crossover. eminem wasnt even making the same type of music pre-aftermath.

Kanye owes nothing to Biggs. How are you a legal millionaire, and still moving drugs? I wouldn't want to associate with them either. Jay was smart distancing himself too.

And how the fukk you only get 5 years for 100kgs? That's another story though :sas1:

He was arrested in 2010, not '08.

Let's hope the Jay rant is next :lolbron:
You don't get a lot of time for weed. Especially if you don't get caught with it. It was a conspiracy case, I'm pretty sure he was just financing the moves. Not positive on that tho.

This is all a bunch of hypothetical bullsht...." they would not have done this...they wouldnt not have done that" type sht. Yeah, ok. The fact that their careers were so successful doesn't agree with you. If you think its all some sort of accident that they became the biggest stars in rap, and niccas like "biggs" are the real reason why they became international superstars for well over a decade, and are still as hot as when they first blew, then be my guest and keep on believing that sht. It doesn't change a thing on how everything eventually played out.

All the pieces had to come together. No star came to be w/o help or looks along the way.

I don't know what's worse:

1. People always claiming a rapper that blew up, would've blew up "regardless", which is the silliest shyt ever. That's like every time a minor rapper dies "he was on the verge of taking the rap game over!".

2. People praising Rawkus. Man, fukk Rawkus. It was a pseudo-indie pet project of Rupert Murdoch's son that gave us a handful of good material before it imploded and turned into a plan ol regular record label fukking it's artists. The only lasting legacy that label has is creating the archetypical annoying underground rap fan.

:ld: Anytime an artist becomes a pop culture phenomenon.. there's always gonna be a handful of people along the way, who think they didnt get what they deserved.

Kanye's done his part though. He stays putting on chitown hip hop artists.. Even Rhymefest is eating off of those writing credits :mjpls:

He didn't. Hart blew up because of his comedy act, and 40 Year Old Virgin. He can't take credit for that.

Soul Plane? He had a tiny but funny part in 40 Year Old Virgin. I'm sure Soul Plane was before that but maybe my memory is wrong.

On Dame, I'm sick of this dude always blaming other people for things. Why would Ye go visit Biggs kids? And what was Biggs dumb ass moving ki's of weed for anyway :wtf: dumb shyt when you're already a millionaire of legal hustles.
