See the fanfare surrounding the 20th anniversary of illmatic last year. Nas eats off that commercially and culturally. If Jay doesn't bury this beef he has with dame dummy, he's going to miss a huge trick when his 20th anniversary rolls around next year. What a way to cement yourself into hiphop folk lore by celebrating a record as if it was hailed as amazing at the time. Reese nibbled out gonna be another footnote otherwise

It's the long con woadie. Jay wants to be in the same category as the The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Nas. Jay without reese nibbled out would not be considered authentic. That's why not only does he want to milk this for what it is but he NEEDS to milk it before the botox starts wearing off and beyonce leaves him for a real man
