Ehh, it's clear there's no money to be made off RD masters at this point. More than anything it's just sentimental to Jay and because of that Dame knows it's a sore point for him.

If anything it puts Jay-Z in a better light if it isn't about the money for once. Also, makes Dame look a bit petty.

But I tell you one thing, when Jay-Z dies that album might suddenly become valuable again for a brief period afterwards.

So many instant gratification hustlers here :snoop:. Look at the bigger picture fellas. Do you think Dame and Biggs are refusing to sell their share in the RD masters out of spite? Jay is easily one of the biggest artists of his generation, he isn't some fukkboi like a yung berg whos masters won't mean shyt in 20 years. If you can't see the potential in its exploitation then there is little hope for your general survival. I wonder how you guys made it this far in life

explain why its ya favorite.

Because imo, I've never heard anything as close to perfect in rap since I heard it in 96. I love everything about it, from the amazing lyricism, the top notch production, the theme of the album, the flow, the features, and it's great replay value.

I never get tired of it, because even after all these years it still sounds fresh, and I still get amazed by certain lyrics from time to time, due to them being well hidden within other dope lyrics. The album is full of easter eggs like that, which makes it age like fine wine for me. It's not overly cryptic or seemingly forced like a Lupe joint, so it flows smoothly and is much more enjoyable that when you do figure out these hidden jewels, you are taken back at how brilliant the verses are.

yep, its my favorite jay album by far, and one of the most enjoyable albums to listen to. a perfect blend of lyrics, flow and production. the production is different than anything comming outta ny at that time. a lot of beats were grimy and hard in ny but this shyt was elegant and haunting and very musical.

i listen to it way more than illmatic, cuban linx, infamous etc but not sure i could argue convncely that it was a better album though. i think it suffers from coming after those albums so its kinda dervivative in subject matter.

I don't understand the talk about it being jay's least valuable album, its his most valuable EASILY. Try to rerelease and sell a narrative for any other album in his catalogue and it isn't happening. Jay probably stays up at night over this shyt.

You know what Hov stays up over? Waiting to go round 3 with fukking Beyoncé, that's what. I hate you types man. Always think if you hold onto this one thing, this one diss, that it will matter no matter how much success a person has. Dame needs to shut the fukk up, and keep it moving breh. He turned down money, and a position to supply his family because of his arrogance. Now that Hov has stopped going, and he has... he's getting all philosophical, enlighten, and all that bullshyt.

Most famous?

I don't think a fraction of people know it.
I cant name all the Jay-z "fans" that dont even know what the fukk reasonable doubt is. Most people that rock with Jay arent hardcore fans like most nikkas on this site. Most people just fukk with the music that is popular.

Take a nikka like J cole for example. He is WAY bigger now then he was when he dropped Friday Night Lights (or whatever that tape was called) you think all them nikkas that lined up to buy his new shyt ever heard of his old shyt.

Ya'll think everyone that heard Section 80 and GKMC ever heard Kendrick old shyt like OD and the Kendrick Lamar EP (cuz I surely have not)?

Well u probably not that big of a music fan

Cause any artist I like enough I'm going to go back and hear what came first cause I might have been sleepin

How could u listen a song like Kendrick Lamar "the heart pt3" and not want to go back and hear the project that part 1 and 2 was created on

Like if u never section 80 u won't full get good kid cause songs like "sing about me" reference songs from it

Cause obviously hov is the person wanting to buy

I thought he just said recently that he didn't want to buy it anymore. I forget where, but wasn't that in one of his recent interviews?

He said something like he's letting it go.

That's Dame's pride and joy too. I can see why he's holding onto that.
