He really dont wanna compete for a title this late in his career. Get your money, rehab well, but damn. Seeing a top 75 NEVER having a legit shor at a title is sad and confusing. Smh

This tells me that maybe he knows his career is over, especially after this injury at his age and now he wants to spend his last few “good” (which remains to be seen) years left with the team that drafted him :yeshrug:.

That's the only reason why he resigned with Portland imo. It's the beginning of the end. I'm sure he'd like to compete for a championship, but at the same time, if what I'm saying is true, he probably wants to end his career in Portland while he has the chance. This will likely be his last contact too.

He won all things considered
Gave ring chasing a try, it didn't work out now he gets to keep all that money plus a another $40m and gets to sit out and rehab for a year with an organization he's familiar with
Dame was already borderline washed BEFORE he tore his achilles.

Objectively speaking I'd have a hard time even promising a roster spot to a 36 y/o Dame coming off an achilles.

Dame WON won...he seems like a good dude...

...but if he was playing in the NFL he'd be forced to retire and you'd see him as analyst on the NFL Network.

I can kinda see Boston crying bout this and this will be discussed during next cba.. weren't they already "upset" bout Dame doing his rehab in Portland?

He was an allstar and averaged 25/7/5 this year
