How does it "end the debate" on anything? He got hurt on the Bucks. In Portland he never played with an all-star. How many rings would any player win with zero all-stars?
For years he talked down on other players who went to better teams to win and folks would always say, replace Dame with this or that player and Dame would have a ring. It's not that simple and his trip to Milwaukee proves that. I don't even knock Dame for not having any rings cause I understand what he had to go through just to make it to the finals. I just always thought it was a bad look that he was so vocal about what other players were doing only to try to do it himself and fail miserably :yeshrug:

I’m so happy for Dame. Them Portland kids are no joke (The were the second best defense in the league after the All-Star break).

Even though it’s summer league Hansen shows you a lot to be optimistic that he can contribute quickly

35 coming off of a torn Achilles, that's usually "take a flyer" territory, surprised he got Portland to cough up bread/years like that
NBA money is outrages

a 35 year old on a torn Achilles is getting this much?

Happy for Dame tho

its one of those things where it seems like he now wished he would have never left but they now have the means to have a better team around him when he returns than if he stayed.

the 22 mil in dead money stays on the bucks cap but the next 2 years dame's new contract will help the bucks save some money for luxury tax purposes at the end of the regular season. a cap expert will come up with the exact figure but it will be around 15-16 mil the next 2 years instead of the full 22 mil. the final 3 years of the stretched contract go right back up to the full 22 mil per season.

it wont give the bucks an extra 6-7 mil per season the next 2 years of cap space but it gives them around that much extra room to make moves and stay under the luxury tax.
