He's just so emotionally soft.

His skillset is that of a very good nba guard, but his mental makeup is that of a sheltered yeshiva league backup.

only thing about OJ that I was mad about was that Memphis let him go for nothing in return when he obviously had trade value.

OJ's stock now is shot he won't ever be seen as a starter. At the most he can be a JR Smith type of gunner off the bench for a playoff team. He is confusing because he has a decent vertical but zero explosiveness. His jumper is off and on and has zero leadership ability. And for him to have ok handles he turns the ball over way too often.

:ooh: Youre comparing this ni99a to JR Smith what drugs are you on sun.

I don't blame Carlisle. Watching Mayo play is :mindblown:

He started off the season soild and I was like maybe he just needed a change of scenary.

No. Dude doesn't have a smart basketball IQ at all. He makes the worst plays at the worse times. I don't know if its mental or he just doens't work on his game but he just can't seem to put it all together.

I don't ever see him being a cat that can help led a team, at best he can be nice sixth mad a la Jason Terry, Jamal Crawford....

:snoop:

I'm saying thats his ceiling now. Where as people once thought he could be an All-Star level player.

:usure:

Lets not act like JR Smith is some elite baller either

Folks really in here saying Carlisle was too hard on Mayo in here trying to save him :savehim:

Mayo is 25 years old. He was out there giving half effort and has been trash since Dirk got back.

The reason Carlisle was so angry is ever since OJ got here Carlisle took him up and has been working with him on his game, then he goes and gives half effort

OJ Mayo is one of those dudes The Coli just rode for from day one and I never understood why. I used to watch this dude nightly in Memphis trying to see the hype and I didn't see shyt.

:sadbron::sadbron: but we need more educated sports fans in the coli if the place is ever going to grow. The 90's babies who only look on stats need to be put in their place time and time again

:whoa: I'm a 90s baby, born in 91..., was raised on sports. At the same time I.don't really comment.to much on the older players cuz i wasn't able to watch them in their prime while understanding the game fully.. but yeah im going to start posting more
