In Norfolk it could just be some gang/neighborhood beef bullshyt though. This happened in Berkley and that area has been at war with Huntersville for a while now from what I hear. Dudes killing each over trying to prove which neighborhood is the hardest. It's fukking stupid.

My female cousin, her son and her moms stay on VA.... I still don't take the violence seriously ....... it's really that bad out there??? I'm a Chicago Cook County baby from the Westside.... Moved to the south burbs years ago but reckless a$$holes are giving chase .... Almost had to fight multiple nikkas for being in my moms driveway this last weekend.... I was ready to die..... To live and die in Chicago south suburbs .... pray for me

I mean it ain't Chicago, but the streets are the streets everywhere. Portsmouth, Norfolk, and Newport News have some pretty grimy hoods where everything you can imagine goes down. They all have their nice parts too of course.

Park Place/Lambert's Points Alumni..While Norfolk is gentrifying as a whole, parts of Norfolk still rough ass hell...especially at night. Congressman Eljiah Cummings nephew was murdered a few years ago over at ODU and police still haven't solved the case. Ditto for a Hampton University student last year at a house party over in Lambert's Point.

I thought I would never seen gentrification with my own eyes until I moved to Norfolk. shyt is so damn blatant. I lived in Suffolk most of my life and the only times I've been to Norfolk was for the mall or the Naval Base. Go down Colley Ave out of Park Place under the railroad underpass and shyt looks like a totally different city.

They're trying to turn that wrecked building near the corner of Princess Anne and Tidewater Dr into some luxury studio apartments

As if the Element on Monticello wasn't enough. I believe they're building ANOTHER bank on that street too.

Them Ghent cacs are on the move though...they're mad Park Place is getting free WiFi for the neighborhood before them because of their precious taxpayer dollars...but they wouldn't have shyt to say if they got a piece of it
