Trade school was the best decision I ever made. Soon as I turned out a journeyman Inwas making $30/hr... in Texas. Living good out here. Gonna go to the community college and take a few HVAC courses here soon since I'm pursuing my master's license in my trade since they kind of go hand in hand.

I just know better be careful doing HVAC/Sheetmetal work, that pookie will NEVER come out your clothes and don't try to throw it in the washing machine or you gonna fukk yo shyt up.

It's amazing how these threads never fail to discuss the monetary reward, but always fail to detail the schooling, certification, and paths.

Trade school, military and apprenticeships have been mentioned several times and I’ve personally started several threads discussing both...wtf are you talking about?

You in this thread just saying shyt not knowing what the fukk you’re talking about, what are you salty about :mjlol:

I don’t need to humble shyt...your a clown. No ones going to hold your hand, or anyone else’s to a career.

Even if what you said was true, do your own research and figure it out. But common sense should tell you that any trade goes through the same process

Either trade school, apprenticeship, military or on the job.

Again, humble yourself. No one in here is begging or asking for a "holding hand". I simply pointed out threads like these tend to have a low signal to noise ratio. Nothing personal, just an honest observation.

There are many paths. There is value in sharing that information. But I speak up for those who would benefit from knowing the unknown.

Honestly, trade school may not even work sometimes. I've seen plenty of cats go to trade school with no on the job training and will still get paid the same as a first year apprentice because they have no experience. Nothing beats experience out here, I always tell everyone before they get in the trade, go get a job at a temp agency as a helper to see if it's for you, before you even bother trying to go to school or an apprenticeship, besides if you do pursue it you already have a head start of getting into the apprenticeship because you have experience.

Mufukkas done paid like $40k to go to some for profit trade school that has no on the job training and can't even make money, shyt is sad and low key a scam.

And again, you’re a clown. The thread premise is about the incentives so that’s obviously what people are in here talking about.

You or “those who would benefit” could either use the forum search function ( and find several threads I’ve went into detail about how to get in a trade ) or search and ask outside of here.

It’s understood why a lot of you cats are bums because you don’t take any initiative and expect answers to questions that weren’t even asked :manny:

Yea I agree with your take on the trade school route to a certain extent but it’s one of them things that gets your foot in the door and/or puts you in connection with the right people to get in the door. It’s still a huge plus to have when applying to a union and you already have a head start. Or you might get in with a company who sponsors you to the union especially with the fact that so many baby boomer tradesmen are retiring soon and need it be replaced.

Yea but trades in general cannot be taught with just instruction alone. Apprenticeship is the ideal model with classroom training but whatever it takes to make your goal you have to do.

Yeah, but are they seeing the pension and generous 401k contribution? Those two alone are life-changing.

If someone is making 30k with a full pension and 401k, that is not life changing lol. That is not the end all be all

But the private companies have a 401k, but no pension. Some (not all) have stock options/equity of the company

No clown or bum shyt on this side. I agree with you that the original premise of this thread was about the monetary benefits, but at this point it's like making a thread saying IT nikkas get paid good. I'm biased though because I'm an informative dude by nature, but I agree on principle that those who want to know should ask.

I'm saying that receiving both throughout a career provides life-changing security.

Since y'all bring this thread up, I've been thinking of getting a license in home inspection. My parents paid a dude $375 cash for him to go throughout their house. shyt you do 2 houses a day, 4 days a week, that's a lot of money:win: And thats not talking about bigger houses

I can see myself being a home inspector as a side hustle. IDK why I like that particular career, but I'm a construction guru
