Twitter is more popular than facebook, especially for my age group, trending topics and breaking news. Facebook probably has more dead accounts since it was there first, but I'm pretty sure twitter has more active members than facebook. I believe instagram and twitter are equally as popular.
The only people I know who use facebook are old (over 30) and/or ghetto. Other people have accounts, but never or rarely use them. Before the live videos of people getting killed (which goes back to me saying mostly hood/ghetto people still frequently use fb) you'd rarely hear people and media articles talking about what happened on facebook lastnight, it's usually twitter and instagram.
Facebook is struggling in popularity and has been for years which is why they are trying to force people to join and are buying up and copying other sites.Idk if you looked at the stats or are just saying that, but most celebs are on instagram and twitter. People go where the celebs go.
I swear you are like 18. Why don't you just listen to me.. I'm telling you what it is. Celebs don't mean anything except to young divas like you (still waiting for that pic btw)
You have your Facebook and twitter mixed up. Twitter is the one with engagement issues, I don't doubt that you and your ratchet friends are probably poppin on twitter but a few percentage of users are responsible for a large percentage of tweets,
5 countries are responsible for 50% of it's traffic its purely chronological news feed is bad design that they haven't fixed, as
out of 1.3 billion accounts only 320 million are active and
391 million have 0 followers. Where as Facebook is popular in every country, everywhere. Yes, twitter is where the news breaks but that only gets so far engagement wise because of the fact that you don't need to be an active member of twitter to receive content from it so a lot of people use twitter as just a news source and not a social media tool. Far more users use twitter to receive content than they do to post actual content, that's why their engagement numbers are always so low and why Facebook, Instagram is always going to be on top and what Snapchat excels at in spades. Facebook started off as a site for college students so it was never designed for jits anyway. Contrary to popular belief Facebook isn't struggling in popularity in the slightest. Twitter is not even real competition for Facebook. Snapchat is, because Snapchat could engage the 14-19 group that facebook was hoping to convert but was not successful by comparison. FB and Twitter btw, are not far off in age, FB starting in 04 and twitter in 07. If you're 18 or 19 year old female in the US your goto social media is most likely snapchat, instagram and twitter in that order. But for the rest of the world...FB is still king.
