Most labels just want a successful single they can push. Most albums don't sale too well so labels just stuck with singles. And Yachty has a few gold/platinum singles. Solo and featuredRappers, outside of a few exceptions, tend to trend downward. Popularity-wise.
If he can't go gold on his 1st or 2nd album....do you really expect him to go gold on his 3rd, 4th, or 5th?
And I'm not talking about record label expectations. Gold is the lowest possible certification from the RIAA....if you can't hit gold as an artist, why are you on a major label? There's literally hundreds of indie artists that never go gold.
