I don't know about people falling off cause it wasnt like that, but I run into girls from back in the day and they seem to be way more interested than before

I'm cool with the attention but :rudy: as if yall were giving me the time of day before. Now I lose some weight, stop wearing bullshyt, and get my shyt together and they like 'I always wondered about you in hs' :sas1:

No you didn't I can see right through that :sas2:

Edit: More I think about it actually, I'm just tryna clown though :russ: everyone I run into since high school has been nothing but cool. I actually like going back and chopping it up at reunion events even though a lot of the conversations themselves can be boring.

Well I'll share a couple things that still have me thinking if I look back on HS people...

1. This Greek cat Pete seemed like an idiot. A jock personality that wasn't good at sports, addicted to gambling, whatever. Dude goes on to become a lawyer and seems to be doing well. We all thought he was lazy and dumb. Pretty surprising to my people who also didn't know him personally.

2. This dude George was dumb cool with everyone, blazed a ton and was liked/respected by his whole graduating class. I talked to dude a while ago when we ran into each other.. He dropped out of college, lied on a job application, has a job in a finance (payroll maybe?) company in the city doing his thing making money. Shocked to hear he lied because that shyt comes out like 20-30 years down the road.

3. Italian kid Paul was a year above me (like other dudes). He was cool with his years popular kids even though there was always weird rumors (rose tattoo on his back, did some homoerotic shyt, etc). Dude is now sales director for a private airline company and looks like he bought a 500k house in Long Island at age 30. Craziest part: he gets to use the private planes for bachelor party flight to Vegas, etc.

4. Found someone on the coli lol

5. One of my friends committed suicide. He was smart with an authority problem, then became a musician, got real into musicians that died young, we had just re-established contact as Facebook was growing but he did it and he's gone. Only story worse is dude who found out he had colon cancer and committed suicide-- amateur body builder and pharmacist.

6. Dude who claims he could train real hard and still get a spot on an NFL team. I knew it was duck tales but I keep trying to encourage until he gives it up but he won't. We smoked herb together enough to be friends kind of so I remind him every once in a while to work out, eat right and try. He won't obviously.

7. Friend of a friend plays pro poker and has made $7MM lifetime. 29-30 years old.

Man,

18-25 is still young. I'm not excusing them doing nothing but they can easily change the direction of ship with a simple attitude change. I have seen people turn around after 25 and even 30. It is marathon not a sprint.

Majority of people who fall off before 25 usually never had real guidance and support structure.

This one girl I was fukking on and off freshman and sophmore year was in a group home and had a crazy bad childhood but last I heard she's doing well for herself and is in real estate.

And then there's dudes I kicked it with during and after school that died. A couple of them mane god bless the dead

One dude who was on the football and basketball team had the whole world ahead of him fukked up in college got caught selling drugs a few times and is back in the trap falling in the trap

Probably the same story at every school for the most part

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
with the exception of one kid in 4th grade who went to play in the nfl

not a single "most popular" female or male in my school is doing shyt that i'd consider looking up to

yet the ones who are out here living life, traveling, making big money are the ones who were just laid back and chill and not worried about winning popularity contest

Off topic: I wonder do teachers make bank. Over here where I'm at they don't So, is it worth it to become a teacher?
Teaching is totally a self fulfilling thing and you're not going to get paid much. But you can use the skills/connections you get as a teacher to start some decent side hustles.

:patrice: Everytime I come over to this sub forum I'm reminded of why I stay in the coli:pachaha:

I've seen this topic a bunch on different message boards like I'm sure many others have. Now that I'm 29 I think I have a decent sample size to draw from. Idk how everyone else here grew up but from what I've seen the "popular" kids (feels funny using that term because I'd never say it in real life) are pretty hit and miss. Off the top of my head I can think of a few folks that ended up surprising me about how they turned out. Biggest failure was one of the smartest guys I knew getting hemmed up with a felony or maybe multiple felonies as I'm fuzzy on the details. Of course I know many women (and men) that let themselves go. A few of my boys are bald now and I avoided bringing it up when I saw them because it's out of their control and you never really know what folks are insecure about.

Anyway the main thing I wanted to say is that other than my 10 year reunion last year I don't know many people that even speak about high school. Again of all of the "popular" people that I still keep in contact with or that I've ran across in passing I can't think of any that talk about high school. Nothing about "back in the day we used to", "remember how", "you know Tasha right, she fat as hell now" or anything like that.:russ:

I do have a few friends that I'm still cool with that weren't "popular" that do still talk about high school though. I got one breh that took about 10 years to graduate college that always talks about women getting fat. Got another that's done really well for himself that occasionally talks about stuntin on folks at the reunion. Other than that this thread doesn't really hit home for me.

I say all that to say this, from my experiences the only adults that talk about high school are people that seem to still carry deep insecurities from the past which is sad. I mean I know all of this depends on where you went to school and I have no doubt that there are a lot of "peaked in high school Ron Lowe" types out there but anyone in their 20s still thinking about high school is pretty pathetic.

I lost for giving a serious answer in this thread:snoop:

Oh yeah saw someone ask about teachers. I believe in Houston teachers start out at about 50k which is pretty solid in this part of the country. One of my cousins is younger than me and between her teacher salary and part time job she clears 70k a year.
Yo I have some pretty deep insecureties real talk. Boutta make a milli seelin these beats and stunt on dese high school hoes :lawd:

For example the median expected annual pay for a typical Teacher High School in the United States is $56,411 so 50% of the people who perform the job of Teacher High School in the United Sates are expected to make less than $56,411.

30-40s are more actual. But it matters where you teach. How long you been teaching. And what degrees you have.

But something most people never think of when they go into this "teachers need more pay".......

Teachers also get all weekends off, all holidays off, a spring break, winter break, and a motherfukking entire summer off.

Mane I swear to god as I got home from work I saw some of my FORMER highschool peeps in a car smoking weed. It was like four of them. They gave me the :birdman: and shyt. One of them was a dude who got a sports scholarship, but he's back in the area now. Doing landscaping because I saw him with the uniform. Anyway, those dudes were trying to meanmug me and I kept on going about my business like a true "G'. Damn man :to: Some people really don't take advantage of the thing that are given. I had to earn my shyt the hard way. I wish them well though.

In highschool you was the man homie. Da fukk happened to you?
