That's why I tell my little cousins not to let HS stress em too much. I know they gotta play that game, it's a part of being a teen...but just know in ten years you're gonna be ahead of so many of those kids who seem larger than life right now.
Last year I ran into a chick who used to be the shyt in highschool. I had gotten off work and was at a store buying some shyt. Saw her lookin dusty, with a kid. We talked for a bit and she kept saying she was single. I kept ignoring that part and instead talking about random shyt. She finally had to ask "so...can I call you? Give me your number..." I took it. She kept texting about hanging out at my place and I'd be like "I'm busy" or nah I'm out of town. Eventually she got the message and stopped.

I can't say I'm doing shyt with my life besides going to community college until i transfer. I still live with my parents. I just turned 21. I however consider myself doing better than most of my former classmates. Some of them do have their own cribs and a paying job but they all have kids 
One prime example is this fine ass girl that went to my school. The school had really high hopes on her I believe. She was an upperclassmen but she was always coming to our classes giving us lectures and presentations and always was the center of attention for big events.
I remember thinking man she knows how to talk, shes a legit 10, and she has the brains. What she doing now? Working at mcdonalds not going to school, plus she had a kid with a dude who was very popular at my school. He was on the football team and I believe he went to a college for only a few months. I think hes going to community college this year so thats good. But these two always on fb talking shyt about each other calling each other bad parents. You know, the shyt we seen as a kid between a few parents that didn't get along.
Was close with a friend who was VERY popular with the ladies in high school and was a great golf player for the school. Where he at now? only 20 with three kids spending most of his time working paying child support or for his kids with his current girl. I just know he the type of dude to have at least two more before its all done.
Know a lot of people stunting on the gram and the book
Some dudes I know are criminals who are always in and out of prison, some girls became prostitutes. Even know a few people that died.
I know I don't have shyt now but I can still count my blessings because a lot of people have fallen off and I have a very promising future.

I've seen this topic a bunch on different message boards like I'm sure many others have. Now that I'm 29 I think I have a decent sample size to draw from. Idk how everyone else here grew up but from what I've seen the "popular" kids (feels funny using that term because I'd never say it in real life) are pretty hit and miss. Off the top of my head I can think of a few folks that ended up surprising me about how they turned out. Biggest failure was one of the smartest guys I knew getting hemmed up with a felony or maybe multiple felonies as I'm fuzzy on the details. Of course I know many women (and men) that let themselves go. A few of my boys are bald now and I avoided bringing it up when I saw them because it's out of their control and you never really know what folks are insecure about.
Anyway the main thing I wanted to say is that other than my 10 year reunion last year I don't know many people that even speak about high school. Again of all of the "popular" people that I still keep in contact with or that I've ran across in passing I can't think of any that talk about high school. Nothing about "back in the day we used to", "remember how", "you know Tasha right, she fat as hell now" or anything like that.
I do have a few friends that I'm still cool with that weren't "popular" that do still talk about high school though. I got one breh that took about 10 years to graduate college that always talks about women getting fat. Got another that's done really well for himself that occasionally talks about stuntin on folks at the reunion. Other than that this thread doesn't really hit home for me.
I say all that to say this, from my experiences the only adults that talk about high school are people that seem to still carry deep insecurities from the past which is sad. I mean I know all of this depends on where you went to school and I have no doubt that there are a lot of "peaked in high school Ron Lowe" types out there but anyone in their 20s still thinking about high school is pretty pathetic.

Oh yeah saw someone ask about teachers. I believe in Houston teachers start out at about 50k which is pretty solid in this part of the country. One of my cousins is younger than me and between her teacher salary and part time job she clears 70k a year.

High school is hte first test in life. People try to tell you that when you're young, but a lot of knuckleheads aren't listening.
Man didn't matter if you were the prom king- athlete, the high school loser, or the in between cool guy... some people knew sh*t was gonna get real after high school and some people didn't .. better yet most didn't. Its crazy how high school was some people's ceiling
I'm only 19, but I've been out of high school three years, and I've already seen some of my classmates fall off hard
