U said there was no “new” rapper that could.

A boogie sold out Barclays he’s “new school”

I’m not sure why ya keep gassing Lola Brooke or acting like she was supposed to have next. 600 person venue is what she should be doing.

She ain’t a star she ain’t Cardi B, she ain’t Ice Spice, she ain’t Nicki…she just one of the dozen girls in NYC rap scene

A boogie a veteran breh my bag, ransom, 99 problems n all that shyt dropped FOREVER ago :heh:

Hes OG status theres like 2 if not more generations after him at this point you bugging :dead:

There was like a 30 page thread pumping Lola ...the other guy brought her up I think and I just jumped in the convo. She defenitly was getting pushed either way.

I'm not a fan of hers anyways.

Here's my thoughts.....you can't just pump out SUPERSTARS.....MFers love to talk shyt on NYC all day on here....it is what it is.

Theres really nothing wrong with artists not being 50 cent status.

Being able to sell out a venue that holds 200 people is an accomnplishment.

I really don't care about rappers pockets like that.

If the music raw I'm good. I'm damn near the minority with that perspective in the booth tho.

I like that new Slizzy Drill shyt or whatever TF that club sound is coming out so I'd love to see more of that.

PEACE

Nobody wanna hear the NY sound on a national level. NY artists have to make their music palatable for a larger audience in order to sell. Griselda is cool but they have a niche market.

Yeah we get it the rest of the county wants to shake they ass.
This all could’ve been avoided if the powers that be didn’t sabotage NY artists by blackballing them right around 2005/06 time period. The city and the region as a whole has never recovered from that. Sure there has been a few stars since (Nicki, Rocky, French etc) but the city has been struggling to make stars.

Other regions are allowed to have their sound and sound like where they’re from. NY can’t do that and be commercially viable.

The question is why though? Why the blackball? Why can't the sound be commercially viable anymore? During the golden age it was, and maybe the Source had a hand in that?

I have no idea why they blackballed NY artists. The idea that there were no talented artists in the region is cap. Lloyd Banks in 2004 was proof that a NY rapper in the 00’s can have commercial success with the proper push.

I personally think it was a collaborative effort between the radio and record labels to stop pushing NY artists.

Yeah I heard once we got Ebro and few others it was a wrap. I feel like Joey had some stuff on his All American Bad@$$ album. Young MA definitely had some heat and I feel like East had a hit with Maneuver.
