Damn old NFL players are just as delusional as old NBA players “Id average 350 yds rushing this era”

I didnt say o-linemen were smaller now. I said linebackers are and I wasnt proven wrong. :camby:

Linebackers were bigger because linemen back then were much better downhill blockers than they are now. Get your lies straight.
Why are you still making this claim when you were obviously proven wrong already?
This site says the average LB in 1980-1999 was 232lbs and the average linebacker 2000-present was 245lbs.

How NFL Players Have Evolved
I literally listed EVERY weight from all the backers who played in the Pro Bowls in 1989 and 2019, not just cherry-picking the ones I want.

2019 Pro Bowl - Wikipedia

Last year, the actual Pro Bowl linebackers were all 250-260. Every single one.

And here's every linebacker in 1989 Pro Bowl:

1989 Pro Bowl - Wikipedia

In 1989, 6 of the 8 Pro Bowl linebackers were 225-240 and none of them were over 250.

No, I played sam-side backer, we stayed fukking y'all up. :umad:

Why just pro-bowlers tho? That is an isolated sample size in itself. Not saying the results would be different, just pointing out how stats can be manipulated by only including certain data

I just did Pro Bowlers cause I wasn't about to look up the numbers for the starting backers on every damn team for two different seasons that's 200+ guys lol. 6-8 Pro Bowlers in each season should give you a decent idea what size looked like in the eras.

But I included someone else's numbers for all backers in 80s/90s and 00s/10s and it showed the same.

So I’m suppose to believe a nikka who never ran for 1,000 yards in a season is suppose to be the next Adrian Peterson?

Breh he shared time with HOF marcus allen and he would only play like 10 games a year cause he didn't show up until baseball season ended. Dude would literally stop playing baseball on a thursday and show up sunday for the raiders and run for 100 yards on 15 carries (with a 60 yard td run).

Bo, barry sanders, moss, lebron and shaq are the greatest athletes I have ever seen in my life.

The Bo shyt was unbelievable to see a man that big move that fast. CBs would have angles and he would blow past them. He would reverse direction in the backfield and run the other way and break a 70 yard run. Breh he would sub in for marcus allen the whole defense would scream "Bo getting ball" then shift and stack the line for the run. The Raiders would give Bo the ball and he would still break a 40 yard run...:dead:

People aren't taking into account the amount of time that he'd have to have the ball in his hands. Bo said "yards", so that includes rushing and receiving. My problem is that he didn't have hands like Marshall Faulk, so I have no idea what the fukk he's on about because he damn sure isn't getting that on the ground.

Bo is the ultimate what if in sports history..

He came in part time and split carries but he still suffered that hip injury in that playoff game against Cincinnati

:wow:

The ultimate what if in sports history

Crazy part is he killed Cincinnati in the regular season in his one matchup I believe he had like two 60 plus yard runs in one game (one was like 80 yards) On like 12 carries or some shyt like that. Plus he did the same to Cincinnati the year before.

He changed direction in the backfield and broke a long 60 yard run.

Then in the playoffs he did the same thing (reverse direction in the back field and broke a long run) and the CB or safties who tackled him (I think it was fulcher) tackled Bo but Bos force was so powerful he literally pulled his hip out his socket.

In terms of a powerful runner with speed only adrian Peterson reminds me of Bo, but Bo was even bigger and faster.

And he was never once benched for losing yardage. Not to mention that the majority of his lost yards were due to blown assignments by offensive lineman ( I own all his games on DVD and can tell you this with strong confidence). If he had that mammoth Cowboys line from the Emmitt Smith era, he would not have to worry about defensive lineman or linebackers meeting him in the back field the moment he received the ball. Walter Payton is second all-time in lost yardage. Do you believe that he was overrated and also would get benched for losing yardage? Marshall Faulk lost yardage on a higher percentage of carries than Barry when he was on the Colts. What do Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, and Marshall Faulk on the Colts have in common: they all had weak offensive lines. Barry Sanders lost about 7 yards per game. Despite this, he still was able to average 100 yards per game (107 yards before you take away the lost yardage), 5 yards per carry and 1527 yards per season. If anything this makes him look more amazing as a player. An average game for Barry was 20 carries for 100 yards (5 yards per carry). The breakdown is as follows:
3 carries for -7 yards
17 carries for 107 yards (6.3 yards per carry)

These numbers are superior to any running back that has played the game (with the exception of Jim Brown who was a modern day athlete playing against much inferior competition). If you compare Barry to other great backs and even running backs like Emmitt, who was known to get you consistent short gains, he gets stuffed one more time per game and loses around 2-3 more yards per game. To make up for it, he averages at least 10 overall more yards per game than all the legendary running backs (except Terrell Davis whose career was shortened due to injury and Jim Brown). Because the data only goes back to 1994, I looked up the percentage of his carries Emmitt lost yardage on from 1994-2004. He lost yardage on 12% of his runs. To compare, Barry during he entire career lost yardage on 14.5% of his runs (446 loses on 3062 carries). I think this gives you an idea of how exaggerated Barry's loses are as you seldom hear any information about lost yardage for other running backs.

I genuinely wonder how old you are and how many (if any) live Barry Sanders games you have watched. Would you be so kind as to share your age?
Barry Sanders is all time leader is lost yeards from scrimmage. Did he gain them back? Yess. Does that make him a far superior running back? No! He was never benched, so what? He still lost a ton of yards from scrimmage. Detroit is also a loser franchise, what they deem acceptable doesn't mean it would fly if Snaders played for another team. YPC doesn't tell the whole story. Guys like Emmitt Smith were often called upon for short yardage. Thats going to kill anyones YPC.

LMAO at what Detroit deems acceptable would not fly with another team. Are you saying other teams would bench Barry, despite gaining 100 yards per game and 5.0 yards per carry and averaging 1527 yards per season? These are better numbers than any running back in all of NFL history (except for Jim Brown). Barry was named to the Pro Bowl each season and also was named All-Pro in all 10 seasons (6 times 1st team and 4 times 2nd team). Do you have any idea how retarded you sound right now? Again, I can tell you with strong confidence that Barry only lost a few more yards per game than other great running backs. The difference between Barry and Emmitt is Barry loses yardage on 1 more carry for 3 more yards. The fact that Emmitt Smith played with the greatest run blocking offensive line in league history and Barry played with a line that was mediocre at best, pretty much evens it out. Barry also ran for 19 more yards per game, 304 yards more per year and .84 yards more per carry than Emmitt. Barry performed substantially better than Emmitt, despite playing for a substantially inferior team and offensive line. Here is a breakdown of an average game between Barry and Emmitt:

Emmitt
2 carries for -4 yards
18 carries for 85 yards
Overall: 20 carries for 81 yards (4.16 yards per carry)

Barry
3 carries for -7 yards
17 carries for 107 yards
Overall: 20 carries for 100 yards (5.0 yards per carry)
You would have to be retarded to bench Barry and take Emmitt over Barry just because Barry loses 3 more yards, since he gains 22 more yards (a net total of 19). Again if Barry had Emmitt's line, he would not have lost nearly as many yards since he would not have a defensive lineman or linebacker in the backfield to almost take the handoff with him. The Lions, with the run and shoot offensive, would have just 5 offensive lineman to block with no tight end or fullback. Because the Lions had no passing game because of poor quarterback play, teams would not respect the pass and would often stack the line with at least 7 defenders. This and poor blocking is why at least one defender would often be in the backfield the moment Barry took the hand off. Emmitt did not have this problem and had he switched places with Barry, we would not be having this conversation. The fact that Barry performed as brilliantly as he did with what he had to work with in the most difficult era to run the football is what makes him the GOAT.

Regarding Emmitt Smith in short yardage, Barry was also called on for short yardage in 6 of his 10 seasons (I have all of his games on DVD and also watched Barry live and can tell you this with 100% confidence) . He was a very good short yardage and goal line runner. The retard that is Wayne Fontes decided to remove him from goal line situations because he did not want Barry to take clean shots and get hurt. For example, during Barry's first four years (1989-1992) he was in 100% of short yardage and goal line situations and he averaged 4.8 ypc. This is still substantially better than Emmitt's ypc of 4.16. Also your point is insignificant because if you removed all of Emmitt Smith's short yardage carries, Barry would still have a better yards per carry.
