Furthermore, I think kids should get free stuff and rewards when they achieve something positive, not just because it's some day on a calendar when everybody says you should get something. That's how we have people today with fucced up entitlement issues...

Well i did, and aint a damn thing wrong with me. Growing up i saw it as a time to have fun with my fam of the same age, getting candy and play with others on the block. Didnt give me a false sense of entitlement, didnt do none of that. Tbh those were some of my first interactions with my white neighbors (my block used to be integrated; now its all black) and i see ot as no different than popping fireworks on the fourth, taking mlk day off, and getting christmas presents
