Well i did, and aint a damn thing wrong with me. Growing up i saw it as a time to have fun with my fam of the same age, getting candy and play with others on the block. Didnt give me a false sense of entitlement, didnt do none of that. Tbh those were some of my first interactions with my white neighbors (my block used to be integrated; now its all black) and i see ot as no different than popping fireworks on the fourth, taking mlk day off, and getting christmas presents

Well growing up I had fun with my fam and neighbors all the time, had plenty of candy and all of that. I knew all of my neighbors anyway because we were neighborly with each other. There were plenty of opportunities for me to do that without trying to hit them up for candy October 31st.

And maybe you do have a false sense of entitlement if you think people aren't doing a good enough job of giving your daughter candy...

while i see we all have different opinions about halloween, i know one thing we can all agree on. it's possbily one of the last "activities" not ruined by facebook/instagram since the kids are still too young to use it. straight enjoying childhood before society forces social networking on them. :manny:

someone pass me some sweet tarts :birdman:

I live in one of these neighborhoods:smugbiden:

Took my kid out trick or treating. We came back with the bounty. Neighbors giving out the four bar kit kats. I'm eating good snacks for the next few months :win:

No false sense of entitlement i just said we could do better on my block. Lets not talk about entitlements breh, tv and the commercialization of america does way more damage than recieving a fukkin twix.

You are reading way too far into one night of the year. Halloween doesnt spoil my kid, especially no more than other aspects of life. And you know what? By your logic birthday gifts from grandma, free lunch vouchers at public schools, and damn near everything else that we expect to happen in america, the fact that she doesnt put in on my power bill gives off a false sense of entitlement. Cease the noise breh, just like i was entitled to happiness as a child, she is too, and if i want to do nice things for/with her, thats my prerogative.

I think YOU are reading way too far into one night of the year. You made this thread, LOL

and speak for yourself; I don't "expect" chit to happen in America. Nobody is "entitled" to anything, which is why you shouldn't be suprised when you don't get it.

And, if you want to do nice things for/with your daughter, that's very admirable and I salute you for that...but as you say, that's your perogative...not the rest of the neighborhoods.

They're also the first ones who try to tell you you're too old to go trick or treating. I was getting this in my neighborhood when I was 11 :childplease:

Till my homie from school told me about his neighborhood on the other side of town. Went there when I was 18 and got 20 lbs of candy. No one gave a fukk how old I was either :lolbron:

The only good thing about having rich cacs as your neighbors

nygga are you serious?

-they watch your house when your away
-they report any suspicious activity around your house
-they randomly mow your loan when your out of town
-they invite you to BBQ's
-they invite you to watch the game on there 65' inch TV and provide free drinks.
-They let you borrow shyt without ever asking for it back.

It's hard to believe but people did sick stuff back then. This was when I was living in Detroit.

I can co-sign this. When I read your 1st post I was like "I remember people doing this shyt in the D"

They had satellite police stations where you could get your candy checked out and stuff. That's how I learned early not to eat fruit or any thing that even looked like it might've been opened.
