this n!gga just called 2001 the stone age, lol.

Had a high speed cable modem (before Comcast got crazy congested and started throttling brothas), Napster and Morpheus to DL music, and started posting on SOHH cause i found it by researching the jay-z and Nas Beef using Google, hahaha.

Me too!! I joined Sohh when during the Jay and Nas beef!!!!!

how do you make a thread about not talking about a song, while youre talking about it. im confused breh

Why are you confused? I am still interested in the song but I am telling you that people will forget that this track ever existed. Nobody is talking about it as much as they did last week. N*ggas were calling it classic and what hip-hop needed, but it died out so quick!!!

Huh? There are still multiple threads on page 1 alone discussing and reacting to Kendrick's verse. It's far from forgotten. Part of he reason that the verse is not discussed in the same way as takeover is the fact that his so called peers haven't responded in the way Nas did to Jay to further fuel the discussion (Lupe and friends are largely irrelevant).

I disagree the amount of the threads, conversions, and media press surrounded tracks like Takeover will never receive that same attention because hip-hop stans are disconnected and soft when it comes to diss tracks. I am telling you people spend years discussing that beef. This track that people claim will save hip-hop will be overlooked and forgotten very soon. Control will not stand the test of time!!

Bmf fairytale land
When Kendrick used that Makaveli line saying he was Tupac offspring, *Strike 1* and Then King of New York *Strike 2* and then said Murder you Nukkaz *Strike 3* even if he was talking bout musically and talent wise, The Hiphop police from the shadows emerged and they silenced this rally for a Hiphop battle that the music world needed, they only saw Eastcoast VS WestCoast repeated. I bet any Rapper that could of put fire to this battle was told to stfu :ban: Mainstream is controlled!

The fan's cant sit around talking about a great track Kendrick did, yes probably verse of 2013 but the HipHop police silenced the process. The filter process of control is much easier for them to pressure and control now than it was in 1995-1996.. they have this under wraps and they don't need a Eastcoast Westcoast war to earn money off this, like Rappers tryna sell cd unit's. The HipHop Illuminati is robbing the Rap game from its culture, fashion, lifestyle, influence, propaganda media.. They are getting rich off this music game and basicly molding it in the shape of whatever trend they see fit for it or want, while the musicians be controlled puppets or have to obey the masses to stay on float of the mainstream. HipHop isn't dead but its a NEW HIPHOP World order my friends

True wasn't a diss song but people take things out of context and shape them to ways seeming fit, so judging by the behavior of society and the past of hiphop beef, it was processed in the minds of others as a DISS ..

i guess...

these nikkas have jobs though. this is what they do. if they aren't going to make money of a reply then why bother. dudes ain't getting paid like that. why not take that free promo from the 'hottest in the game' and put out a smash that has nothing to do with him?

Well you could I guess proceed if your tryna create buzz for yourself to feed off the hype around the Great Song, but if your already in the Spotlight, Mainstream to be in Global Rotation I believe you would have to follow whatever guide they are being told, if you wish to stay in that A-LIST or you would deal with the threats of your "JOB" being depromoted or basicly your doors of "Success slowly closing"

Do you think it will stand a test of time?

It took months for Nas to respond to Takeoever and n*ggas were talking about Jay-Z diss for months prior to Nas diss track!!

Kendrick don't hold weght like that, this generation hyped it up and made it more than what it really was.
Nope.

In 5 years no one is gonna be talking about it.
