It plays PC games not Xbox games. The only Xbox games available are ones ported to PC or games that can be cloud streamed.

This is the ROG Ally X 2 with Xbox inserted into the name. It has an Xbox app on it that let's you load games from PC Game Pass and load all major PC stores like Epic and Steam without having to go into full blown Windows.

It does not play Xbox console games. Even the Xbox app will be available on other Windows handheld PCs in 2026. There's nothing unique about this. It's just another handheld Windows PC.

I think it's an experiment for their next pivot for Xbox consoles. I expect the next Xbox console to be a Windows PC with an Xbox app that plays games from all available PC storefronts on a trimmed down version of Windows.
