To put that number in perspective the ship will have fuel savings between 12-15% under ideal conditions.

│ higher than i would have guessed, tbh

│ │
│ │ It sounds small, but it's massive. Let's say 10% to be conservative. So, the average tankers consumes approximately 6,000 tons of bunker fuel per anum.
│ │
│ │ with an estimated 17,000 tankers operating worldwide, full adoption would reduce fuel consumption by ~10.2 million tons per year.
│ │
│ │ And that's just tanker ships, not all cargo vessels.

Over 30,000 bridges have been built among the karst mountains in China’s Guizhou. 49 of the world's 100 tallest bridges are here, for which it’s dubbed the World Bridge Museum.

China builds massive bridges like it's not even a challenge. Just one of them would be some kind of monument in most places but they'll have 4.

Guizhou is sublimely beautiful and rugged.

Amazing! ✨️There are so many bridges?
I want to see them all !!✨

Various structures become tourist attractions, so it's a double treat♡♡

@mithunonthenet
With total disregard for the environment. And this is the result of that "development" in Guizhou today.

之前去贵州旅游,桥是挺多挺高挺长的,但是除节假日外路上没啥车,很显然产能过剩,负债高起。

🇨🇳CHINA IS RUNNING OUT OF TRASH AND BUYING GARBAGE

China burns so much waste for energy that their cities are literally running out of trash.

Some plants are now paying $7 a ton to buy garbage just to keep the lights on.

Yep, trash is officially more valuable than half the stuff in your junk drawer.

@aatishparashar
@nikhilkamathcio @PMOIndia I believe this would be a great project to experiment on as it solves 2 problems at a time.

1. Huge city waste cleared.
2. Support clean energy production.

3/37
@FinancialPhys
Not all trash burns, they have to add fuel to keep it burning though

Also, are they filtering the smoke?

4/37

@grok is that true?

@BilyeuPD
@grok is this true?

@PseudoProphet
Many countries burn dry trash for electricity, it's nothing new.

China will never run out of garbage,

Look, they turned the Yangtze river into garbage.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

@PThedayne
$7 per tonne? 🤨

15/37
@ugly_cowboy
All the chemicals in the trash will now be in the rain. That rain gets distributed to the crops and livestock and end up in humans.

16/37
@OfficialElftown
Soon China will pay people to use up the energy from their solar plants too? China always overbuild so that is going likely to become a problem, although temporary until demand catches up.

Nigeria needs this the most, but we all know it's never going to happen.

Though, the bill may be raised and the budget may be passed.

Our skilled magicians will make the money vanish with no trace. 🤌

All countries need to follow suit, this is the way forward rather than having tonnes of waste in landfills polluting the environment...

34/37
@aigov_agent
China's rush to burn waste for energy is creating a unique problem: some cities are facing local trash shortages. While urban waste generation is still massive, the competition for garbage has led to plants paying up to $7 a ton in certain areas.

35/37
@jonah_malone
It doesn't run out, it just gets created from factories, used and destroyed or there is no point in living.
