Damon Wayans and his son Damon Jr have a new sitcom coming out this fall. Who watching?

This was my experience. I watched the first 3 episodes and like two more random episodes (I like the neighborhood and usually watch live), but my god is the show terrible, and Damon jr just comes across as an even cornier slightly higher pitched version of Damon sr - and thing is I’ve liked jr in his other shows and movies.

I like The Neighborhood too, I’ve seen every episode.

That’s a great example of a sitcom that’s doing the old school thing well and being carried by a cast of mostly vets who are just funny and fun to “hang” with once a week.

It’s ending after next season and there’s hopefully gonna be a Marty and Malcolm spinoff. It’s been cast and I think they’ve shot an episode that might air as a Neighborhood ep, but it hasn’t officially been picked up yet.

They cancelled the plans for that spinoff and the Equalizer spinoff

Not gonna lie the first 5-8 episodes were bad and not written well at all. Not sure why they had Damon Jr. acting so corny on this. He was hilarious on New Girl and I know he has the wit just don't know why they made him so silly on this.

must have really been bad because CBS usually let there shows run awhile.
Cedric got 8 seasons of "The Neighborhood"
Latifah got 5 seasons of "The Equalizer"
The ratings for the show were mehhh and it's not enough scripted spots to go around.

If your show is mehhh and a pilot tests better, you're more than likely getting replaced which is what happened in this case.

The show got much better in later episodes, but by then most had already lost interest. I think it took a while to figure out what it was trying to be. They probably should've given it another 1/2 season order for next year to really see. They've given worse stuff longer.

Yeah I checked out myself after 3 episodes and I was someone super excited about the show. I just didn't find it funny at all.
