To be fair he said it wasn't Allen's fault they lost, but the greats find a way for their teams to win.
Exactly, RC didn't say Allen was the reason they lost. Because he wasn't...
But Josh Allen left plays on the field, he deserves mention for that. They didn't lose the game on a missed kick that would've only tied...
Also I don't think people hammer Josh for not having a ring, as someone upthread hinted at. It's more about the roller coaster play and, to RC's point, he dies everything you need him to do
until you need him to do it most. Should've hit Diggs on the cross, but the TD to Shakir was there if he put more air under the ball on that very play, that pass landed like 4 yards in front of Shakir in the endzone...
That play where Shakir had to freaking dive to haul in the bomb, come on now, ball placement and accuracy are quarterback responsibilities, no one to blame there other than Allen. Then that final 3rd Down, he had Kincaid for a first down...
Again, I don't think Allen is the reason they lost, but he played marvelous until he had the ball with 2 minutes left with a chance to win. There's no way you can say that was a strong final drive from him. I'm an Allen fan, but we not doing this "he deserves no critique" shyt today...
And he's now 1-5 vs other elite QBs in the playoffs, amazingly he's 4-0 when the other team's QB is Just A Guy. RC said it in this clip,
at some point he has to win these marquee matches vs other elite QBs...
And same energy coming if Lamar comtributes to a loss next week. Lamar currently has a losing playoff record, and his team is at home, better roster, favored vs Kansas City. Sane situation as Allen this week, Lamar better win that gotdamn game. Like RC said, and he's right, greatness isn't defined by not being the guy to lose the game, its defined by finding a way to win...
Lamar next on that screen...
