They can only play at the LOS when the receivers aren’t a threat. Chiefs have faced some of the most two-high coverage the current back half of Mahomes career so far, and they just started bringing more down toward the LOS this yr to put more hands on Kelce, as it became clear there was nothing else to worry about.
But looking at the greats of TEs, I only see 3/8 who won a SB, and they played with arguably the last and current greats (Brady/Pat) and another HOF QB/MVP RB (Donkey in Denver). Not saying they weren’t/aren’t heavy contributors, but those seem to be the exception, not the rule. I had to research on that one tho, so I could be wrong.
More likely to win a ring than the great WRs, but there’s 30 HOF WRs, so clearly they seem make the greater impact on the game by volume
