This episode finished adapting chapter 54, fully adapted chapters 55+56 & most of chapter 57.

  • The last few pages up until the photo were heavily extended and enhanced in the anime. In particular, how well the music choice was in this portion of the episode.
  • The same thing with Momo working through the day and how slow time was moving.
  • Also, to add how they really showed Jiji fighting off Evil Eye. It really showed how hard it was, but in a way, it showed his progress.

Very good chapter.

  • The idea of constantly switching between Evil Eye & Jiji is interesting, and it makes more sense than a pure fusion, which would just be an OP power-up. So I like this better. As Jiji has more aura powers like Momo has, and Evil Eye now is purely physical, you do get a fusion, but of course it is not 100% Powered Cursed House Evil Eye, which we see at the beginning of S2. There is still a dropoff in power. But that gives a lot of potential for Jiji to improve with Evil Eye.
  • I do love the Evil Eye character development here. We can see how far he has come since where we are in S2. He actually feels like one of the group, and he absolutely cares about Seiko. Plus, you can see the moment he doesn't switch to Jiji and destroys that alien.
  • Also a reminder to people that Seiko is the strongest among the group, but unlike kids, she is reliant on borrowing the power of the gods of various land. Given this was an emergency for Momo, she couldn't plan that. So Jiji's comment at the end is 100% merit and not him talking out of his ass.

JiJi and Evil Eye coming up big. It's wild that this arc both feels epic AND like it's here to give necessary upgrades to the key characters before whatever's coming next. It's got me really anticipating whatever insanity will follow.

Actually, Okarun's confession will be official by the end of this too. I wonder how close to the endgame we're getting.

Jiji and Evil Eye switching up while playing videos games is wholesome as fukk considering Evil Eye's past :mjcry: :mjcry:

I know Seiko's dealt with powerful spirits in the past (like Turbo Granny) but something tells me Tatsu is also building her up to get a huge fight and showcase of her full arsenal on some Netero vs Meruem shyt :wow: can only imagine what this jreh has in store :ohlawd:

It all depends on how long Tatsu wants to keep this going, imo. Like I can totally see like 200-300 more chapters just off the strength of Count Saint Germain's fight/"real" arc, giving a real closure to the Subterranean plot and of course the big plot of aliens vs yokais. I doubt we've see seen the last of Turbo Granny as well.

Modern mangaka tend to speed things up and straight up toss previous plot points that were built up early just so they can finish shyt up more quickly (like, if this was DS or JJK, the Subterranean plot would get scrapped completely, lol). But so far it seems to me Tatsu might stick around for the long haul and get to 400-500 chapters for this series. We'll see though, he might get tired of drawing all this crazy shyt and finish it by chapter 300-350 :dead:

But honestly, I can picture him just fukking around and having a 20 chapter arc just with school and monster of week fukkery with Momo and Okarun dating and the gang reacting to them:pachaha:he can take his sweet ass time with this series if he really wants to.

This episode adapted the rest of chapter 57, chapters 58 and 59, as well as most of 60. Though note the ending moment was not in the manga, it matches the fight Okarun vs. Evil Eye from the cursed house arc.

I think the big highlight moment was when Okarun linked the HAYASii when he got into rhythm. Creativity is off the charts with this adaptation from one of the most creative manga ongoing.

Missed this when you posted it.

Why isn't Demon Slayer in here? There's a lot of series that have finished, maybe they still had a volume out in 2025? :jbhmm: I don't see how that's the case for something like Haikyu.

Surprised by Kaiju's ranking, I wonder if the story went to shyt in the manga :pachaha:

Also wild how there's only one series that hasn't been adapted yet in Kagubarachi and that's basically because they don't have enough material. I wonder which series are gonna take over in the next 3 years because there's gonna be a void that gotta be filled.

Demon Slayer manga has been done since 2020. I think by now everyone who wanted to buy the manga would have done so already.

Off the top of my head, Kagurabachi & Ichi the Witch are the two big new manga from Weekly Shounen Jump that, if they get top adaptations, will really take off.

Mayonaka Heart Tune has the potential to be big for a harem rom-com that is genuinely good. But adaptation looks like ass outside of voice actors.

Centuria is a really remarkable manga. Made by one of Fujimoto's assistants. Honestly, Centuria & Ichi is more what I am hyped for. Bachi is cool and has hyped moments. But it isn't much more than that, which the fanbase is aware of.

There will probably be surprises, like, tbh, I never expected Dandadan to get this type of adaptation. Hell, the manga always felt like it would be too hard to animate, but they found their style with it.

I feel like we're on the verge of a Korean Manwha run. Solo Leveling blew up, and Omniscient Narrator's Viewpoint has a ton of potential. There's a bunch of untapped potential in series like Unordinary, Hardcore Leveling Warrior, and the Peerless Dad universe (seriously, Red Storm and Peerless Dad would be incredible with a good studio animating 'em).

Haikyu also ended in 2020 though, that's why I asked about DS not being in there. If Haikyu is still top 20, one would guess DS would also be in there considering the anime is still going strong as fukk :jbhmm:

Ah that's a good point. I think a point could be that Demon Slayer really does well with the casual and family crowd more than Haikyu. Granted, it does well, but you go more of the hardcore anime and manga fandom who follow Haikyu.

Plus the movie was a follow-up to the last season, which was late 2020. I could see the news of the movie got them to notice the manga, while with Demon Slayer it feels like since Mugen Train got a TV broadcast, the series has been yearly basically with content.

That's my educated guess on that.

Honestly, Korea just needs to start animating this stuff like China is doing for donghua. ORV is backed by Aniplex, like Solo Leveling was, so it should be in good hands, but most of these adaptations of Manhwa just are just middling too often. Also, I feel Japan looks down on these Korean series, honestly.

They're one or two Solo Leveling hits away from giving the series the respect they deserve. The Isekai phase will shift to the Regressor phase as soon as Japan figures out that Korea's got the goods :mjlol: .
