I want the movie. This is the perfect arc to finish with a movie.
I disagree breh, I don't wanna wait that long for Reiko to go beast mode on the Globalist and I have full faith in Science Saru doing an awesome job keeping it on TV. Waiting for a film would take till like 2029 or some shyt, no thanks.

@Jmare007 S3 cliffhanger will be Momo watching Valoma getting impaled if we are going by the trend of Momo suffering as cliffhangers :russ:
I actually was wondering what would be the cliffhanger for cour 1/season 3. They might flip the script and end it when ghost Okarun finds Momo and Jiji sleeping together  it kinda fits with the pacing of chapters adapted per episode.

Vamola getting impaled is closer to en ending of the arc, but it would be very SS to end the 2nd cour there to set up the film @storyteller wants. That would also fit with the amount of adapted chapters a movie could get to finish the arc.

Chapter 93 vs 100. Either would work, tbh. Though 93 is closer in the middle so that would make more sense to me. Plus it would flow better for split cours. Though I think 2 10-episode courses might make more sense than 2 12-episode courses.
Science Saru knows they can get away with Momo fukkery. But Okarun fukkery might get the self-insert weebs offended. :patrice: Otakus are hypocrites. I remember they were complaining about the Okarun thing and called it NTR :skip: :mjlol:

I hate this chapter. So basically Momo has amnesia and has forgotten everything that has happened in this manga. It's clear Tatsu wasn't ready to push them being together, but why? This is just lazy stalling. Tatsu has done good stuff with the romance and sol stuff in Dandadan, but this is his real first L.

Unlike in Witch Watch where Nico gives up everything to save Moi. There was merit because you get to see how Nico was as she fell in love with Moi. She was willing to sacrifice her memories and time with her Witch recovery spell. There is none of that here.

Yeah, this was predictably frustrating. I'ma give this 4-5 chapters to see what's the short term plan for this and the next arc, but if it's just to stretch things out and do "Momo meets everyone again for the first time and rejects everyone but Jiji/Zuma", I'ma probably take a 6-12 month break to wait out and binge read for later.

This could be solved relatively quickly/easyly or it could just fall on the horrible rom-com troupe of entire arcs of useless "misunderstandings" or annoying obstacles. If it's the latter, I ain't reading weekly :heh:

This feels like the Invincible comic, where Ryan Ottley would come up with the most repetitive/annoying arcs to keep Mark busy and away from the more interesting/bigger plot in the 2nd half of the story. I was lucky to read the series after it was over because I would've dropped the comic if I was reading it monthly :dead:

The only copium I got is that Momo lost her powers, and those powers are attributed to those memories. If it's not that then

The easiest path is a mini arc where Momo ends up getting attacked (while being with Okarun) and just like in the first Serpo fight, she awakens her powers. This time she does her "memory connecting" thing with Okarun and that's how she gets her memory back, plus she get to see how Okarun not only sees her but we as readers get to know about his past, we still don't know what's the deal with his family, lmao.

It's obvious she's gonna get her memories at some point, the question is if it's gonna be quick or if it's gonna drag. Dragging it out seems like a really bad and stupid idea because no one wants to read that :heh: she's been tiny for almost 20% of the manga, giving her another 30-50 chapters of dumb obstacles is begging the fanbase to straight up drop the series :mjlol:

Every time a new obstacle comes up, I think "I really hope this is how Turbo Granny gets brought back in." I feel like this is a perfect setup for it, calling back to the first arc.

Though part of me would love a side-arc where people keep trying to beat Turbo Granny in a race to steal her power with those knives. They can save that for an anime-only episode.

Actually interesting chapter with some more answers to the overworld plot stuff.

  • So the one who fought both Seiko & Jiji was not a Yokai or alien, but a person named "The Flying Ace," and the organization is "Black Paladins." Is this the group the CSG leads, perhaps?
  • Interestingly enough, he serves under CSG. Also, the woman I thought was Kur was just human, it seems. CSG plans to befriend humans, and the gang is an interesting method.
  • CSG, which also has the Kur under him, is not associated with the Sepro. Also, aliens can't use Youkai powers.
  • CSG mentions creating the ultimate Youkai. Though would this center around Okarun being that piece?
  • I do wonder if Momo's memories are associated with her also losing her powers? I wonder if her memories end before in chapter 1 when she got captured by Aliens.

At least we got some good info this chapter. Too lazy to go back and check right now but was the backround of "the ultimate yokai" that CSG mentioned the same one as the Dandadan? :jbhmm:

I'm curious if CSG realizes Okarun doesn't have any powers anymore because he's pretty useless to him unless he's somehow a great vessel for yokai.

I think Tatsu is flat out telling us that. Her memories are from before she got powers (which has 1 big plot hole: if that's the case, she should still remember aliens as she awakened her powers after encountering the Serpo so she "should" remember aliens being real) and her getting her memories back will probably lead to her "awakening" again. Which is gonna take hopefully a small arc and not 15-40 chapters :martin:

My biggest question regarding Momo right now is if there's a version of her with her memories wandering around somewhere. Kinda like what Okarun had during the Globalist arc. We might get another version of "out of body experience" with her before she's whole again.

I think it is supposed to be the same, but the background art in small details isn't the same. But yeah, hopefully the Momo thing can be handled to enough of a degree since they should have some downtime since CSG mentioned they are staying low-key for a bit. The biggest thing is how Tatsu handles Okarun first meeting with Momo since the whole amnesia thing happened.

So yeah, after 5 chapters, I'ma be taking a little break because this amnesia stuff feels useless and it seems it's gonna take a while before Tatsu reveals why he took this direction. It's just not fun following this week to week at a snail's pace for something that's just an annoying ass troupe. This last chapter was just not good felt like the worse type of rom-com series, which was the complete opposite of what made this series so good:francis:

At least season 3 is in full production, early 2027 or even late 2026 for the first 12 episodes seems like a good bet :blessed:

@storyteller you been following the manga breh or are already taking a break?

Following, but there hasn't been much to talk about in terms of plot development. I do like where this left off with Momo and the Count. That feels like it can take us in a few directions. Especially, since they mentioned inserting false memories all chapter long, I could see that as a primer for whatever the Count does next.

Honestly, I'm a little mad that we haven't gotten a look at Zuma or the old man/boy after they got healed. Did they lose their memories too? I'm also losing hope that this will be a setup for Turbo Granny coming back. It feels like the next time Momo hear's "Ken Takakura" will be when her memories trigger.
