You said Mudiay was more pro-ready then russell. You've been proven wrong but refuse to admit so..it's shameful at this point. Russell has a higher ceiling and is better now.
So we're deflecting from the topic at hand now?

Just because his shot has been woeful, doesn't take away from him being more pro-ready than Russell was. Mudiay from day one has been able to drive at will and create his own shot in nearly every situation. He's also better a running an offense, which D'Angelo really hasn't been doing much of. Why should I expect you to know this when you don't watch him play?

So he can create his own shot but can't make it? what good is that? Russell is also a better shot creator. He's a better finisher, better from 3 and the post. Prove me wrong.

At this stage, not good at all. His technique/usual form isn't bad, he just has bad habits - changing his form for effect and hanging in the air.

Not at all. Mudiay can get to any spot on the floor, D'Angelo can't. He can also create for others better too.

He's a smarter scorer, knows his limitations and when to pick his spots, which he has over Mudiay. Mudiay's BBIQ goes out the window when it comes to scoring, which is part him being lackadaisical and part being a pass-first PG. D'Angelo will always be the better shooter, that will NEVER change.

What do you mean Russell can't get to any spot? He absolutely can. His change of pace is elite already which he needs cause he's not the fastest guy.

Do you want a pass first PG that can't shoot in today's NBA? Mudiay got 22 points last night mostly because they left him wide open and kept going under screens (and he had enough speed to get to the basket on some of those). He got the Rondo treatment. Nobody respected his offensive game. And the few times I do watch Nuggets games he looks worse. So last night was an aberration...He's also not Wall/Rose/Westbrook fast so he's not going to be overwhelming opponents with speed. I'm surprised you like his game. He looks like a pass-first Tyreke Evans at best right now unless he puts in mad work.

D'Angelo is noticeably faster then he was months ago, btw. He gets to his spots just fine, has a nice handle, and can always just call for a screen...He just changes pace all the time so he often moves slow to lull defenders to sleep. Next time you watch a Lakers game, watch him more closely...its apparent he's not the fastest guy but he has some of that James Harden/Chris Paul craftiness. As for D'Angelo creating for others, you have to remember the Lakers barely have any shooters, and no bigs that can catch and finish. The Nuggets actually have some decent players (Barton, Faried, Gallo, Nurkic, Jokic, Harris, etc.).

And that's the biggest drawback on his game, is that he's of a dying breed that probably won't be relevant at all, 5-10 years from now.

He doesn't have that next level speed, but he makes up for it in his craftiness, ability to get to the rim and his size. He's noticeably bigger than all three of them - which is going to be pivotal heading into the future. You don't get too many 6ft5 dudes like him. It's less me liking his game and more to do with the potential I see with him (his floor notwithstanding). He needs an Engelland-type to help him with his shot, but more importantly he needs someone to help him develop a post game. He needs Sam Cassell in his life. D'Angelo's already been doing it in limited spots this season (as you've probably noticed), when he demands the ball in the post and while he's awkward, he's effective at getting his shot off/or getting fouled.

There's a new lane for a PG in the post and Mudiay has the perfect blend of handles, size and strength for it.

I don't know about getting faster, but he's certainly worked out what to do in order to utilize his strengths more. His shooting has helped him get out of tough spots too.

That's true to a point, and the fact that Scott isn't helping him out much either is a distinct advantage that Mudiay has. But I don't see anything resembling a player that can run an offense; he's more of an opportunistic player who functions better at the 2 who can provide some playmaking (in similar vein to LaVine). He's not a player (well, not yet anyway) who can regularly get to any spot on the floor, and has issues at times breaking down his man.

Why because I know what I'm talking about, and you don't?

Don't you find it funny how you and @CantStop are accusing me of trolling when you lay claim of Lakers players being better than other players you admittedly don't watch? Isn't that trolling? You tried shytting on Wiggins, but were proven wrong by myself and others. You tried bringing up all these stats that had no context behind them in the 'Randle > Jabari' thread, but were proven wrong by myself and others. I mean if we're being honest here you're the one who's a certified troll.

:manny:

You're a troll dude....it's okay:ehh:

You don't need to explain yourself:ehh:

Admit to being wrong on what exactly?

He was still the more NBA-ready player because of his size/athleticism, pro-experience and his ability to run an offense. His shot was always going to be an issue coming into the league.

Really think about it, Simmons over Ingram? :ld:
Yes Simmons over Ingram.

If you can show me another 6'10 240 pounder whos a double digit a night rebounder who runs like a gazelle, handles the ball like someone much smaller, makes it seem like he has eyes in the back of his head he's such an adept passer, has a feel for the game like someone much older, and with room to grow then I'd love to see him :yeshrug:

Plus he and D'Angelo played together in high school and won a natty together. You can't ask for much better team chemistry

D'angelo played well for the most part. His shooting is outstanding no doubt, but I worry because he needs screens to make anything happen on offense.

That legendary passing of his I've still yet to see. He's got good instincts and quick hands.

IMO Mudiay is just better. Better handle, stronger, faster, better passer, and he can create his own shot. That jumper is still woefull but every few games he'll shoot well.

Mudiay made a lot of good plays down the stretch to help give the Nuggets a comfortable lead. He bailed DJ Augustine out for the baseline cut and layup.

He then got around a screen with a drop off to Faried, I think it was, who went to the line and converted two.

He made a couple of jumpers, one square in Loading's face. He hit another jumper, right before I think, coming around a screen at the top of the key.

And followed that up moments later with a running layup to put them up 8 (I can't recall exactly).
How the hell does Mudiay have the better handle when he averages more turnovers than D'Angelo? :dahell:

What makes you think he's a better passer?

How can you say that D'Angelo can't create his own shot when he's literally fresh off of a damn near 40 point night? Did you think he scored 40 points by running of a gang of off ball screens all night? :why:

That's rule #1 of the :troll: handbook...never admit you're wrong & pretend it never happened

Rule #2...create strawman arguments

Rule #3...move the goal posts until you finally win.

Simmons can't be incorporated into a NBA offense seamlessly due to lack of a J, and likely won't develop a jumper for years. Drafting him will likely stunt Randle's growth because he will create a non-shooting frontcourt. His style of play hasn't exactly lent itself well to winning either, but to me that's a matter of having the right personnel around him which no one has.

You can take him but Ingram is a better pick especially for a Lakers squad that is gearing toward offense going forward. I don't think it would be a bad pick to take Simmons but Ingram has all the necessary tools to play in a top notch offense and be a perennial 25 PPG type of player
