People forget that most of these British actors are classically trained from a young age. Acting is a lifestyle for them. They put in HELLA work on stage which gives them a bit of a leg up.

Sometimes they are flat out BETTER than the american brehs and brehettes.

As pro black as you are--like, that's okay with you?

That, plus you got Spike and Ava saying they prefer English black actors.

:yeshrug:

This is why I don't really look forward to supporting their movies; I'm contributing to American black actors being replaced as they have for atleast the last ten years.

Bascially, American actor don't work hard enough. Cool. Cool. Cool.

And we were called crazy when we pointed out the amount of them getting roles over Americans.

That's cool. Just don't go around calling us xenophobic or--worst--c*ons.

Acting is subjective. I have seen Idris pull off a hood dude but when Daniel did it it was pretty inauthentic. That clip where dude is rapping and he's all in their grill like he about to kiss him ala Beenie siegel.

His a good actor and played that role well, the hate his getting is unfair. I mean there are great ados actors that could execute that role just as-well if not better but how do we know if they turned it down? I don’t see Jamie Fox or Will smith playing a 21 year old character anyways.

iirc someone said it’s cheaper to get Brits to act plus since they are classically trained directors get more bang for their buck.

If America as whole wants to change that then we need to start putting money back into our art programs this is even showing in the music no one knows how to sing anymore or know how to play an instrument.

He's a dope actor. I still think when it comes to portraying important black Americans in American made films, black Americans should be given first crack at those roles, especially in light of the history of racism against black Americans in entertainment. MLK, Harriet Tubman, Fred Hampton Jr, etc all were played by British folks. If it ain't a Chadwick Boseman movie or Malcolm X, seems like British folks play all these roles.
