Believe it or not, regardless of what
@KevJ thinks of my take, I think he's kinda right on this. It's not the end of the world that the C's didn't get Cousins. I don't think Ainge's asset collecting was contingent on getting Cousins in particular.
BUT,
I don't know who Ainge is waiting for, but KG 2.0 isn't gonna appear out of the sky. Who is he waiting for? If that's Butler, go for it. If that's George, fine. but he's running out of targets and merely drafting and keeping every player is gonna cause those assets to depreciate. Some of those players are better used as assets than as players. If the goal is to wait for the Jaylen Browns of the world to help you win, the Horford signing, as much as I defend it, will look puzzling.
As for the Cousins trade itself, Kev, even you can admit now that if that's all the Kings were gonna get, they coulda waited.
