The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
If you're not in contention for a title you are treadmilling. Hawks have done it for more than a decade. Congrats on the 2nd seed, does it mean anything if you aren't actually competing? Nope, so put up or shut up: if celtics make the finals I'll be banned forever and if they don't then it's you.

If you don't want to do this then you're well aware your celtics aint doing shyt.

We have more regular season wins and titles than your crummy franchise.

Your team has been an embarrassment for a minute. We got better picks than you and don't even have to tank for it.

:umad:

Btw, this thread really should be deleted. It's an embarrassment.

Ainge at worst is a top 5 general manager
and considering what Chicago and Indiana wanted for butler and George no one should be mad at him

You don't give up your cap space both Brooklyn picks and 3 of crowder Bradley smart brown when you can just keep them all, make the pick and make a run at signing at max guy... and yes I know Hayward isn't as good as butler and George but it's not a huge gap and we'd get to keep everybody for other trades or whatever... has Paul George been better than Hayward this year? If you look at their stats, they are basically identical George is just a better defender

Cousins was too risky chemistry wise so I get it

I'm a little ticked we didn't at least try to get ibaka bogut taj or noel considering the price, we have a million draft picks it wouldn't have killed us to give up one of those even if these players did end up being rentals

Does anybody remember when the knicks gutted their roster for Carmelo when they could just sign him in the offseason?

How'd that work out for them?
No need beating a dead horse. I already used it as an example but OP accused me of moving away from the topic.

Who's mad? Only specific player I complained about not getting yesterday was Nerlens. If the reported asking price from Indy was true then I don't blame Ainge. And as far as Butler, I think the window is still open, and could theoretically be for a lower price down the line.

And like I told @Suiken, this thread will either blow up in my face or validate my criticisms beyond debate. I would much rather it be the former.

Paul George isn't even nice like that... :heh:

People underrate Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder. They are above average starters in this league and a great defensive tandem.

Paul George is one of the best two-way players in the league and puts up 22/6/3/2 while shooting 45% from the floor. He ain't the league's best player but he's definitely top-tier player (and perennial all-star). :what:

I agree with what you said about Bradley and Crowder. :ehh:

Still expect the Celtics to end up with Butler Griffin or George in the summer

They offered two picks for Butler already. Bulls said no but if they go out quietly in the first round again they may feel differently about keeping Butler

I ain't say he wasn't nice :manny:

He just ain't nice like THAT though having him doesn't guarantee a Finals appearance.

He's not worth Bradley, Crowder, and top picks. Bradley is putting up 18/7 while shooting 40% from 3 and being an All-NBA Defender. Crowder is putting up 14/5 on 40% from 3 and All-NBA level defense. They are hard-nosed and crucial to the identity of the team and they have gotten better every year. I rather have them two over George especially with the picks and cap space.

It seems like he's already peaked and since his leg injury his explosiveness has regressed and he's fallen in love with the jumper. He only has 18 dunks this year.

It seemed like the majority like George over butler but butler has been much better this season

I mean yeah, but that's from when? He's clearly not the same player. The leg injury on team USA has basically scared him to drive to the basket

He doesn't need to drive to the basket to be effective, as we've seen since his injury. Plus, he's improved his outside shooting.

Theyre not trying to contend this year....there window really starts after this off season...
Their window with this current group actually ends after next season. :ehh:

Thomas, Bradley and Smart are all free agents in the summer of 2018. Just to keep those three, you're probably looking at $60 million or more per season. Combined with the Horford, Brown and Crowder contracts, they'll be right up against the cap. The Horford signing was clearly a win now move, so not doing anything before the deadline this season is extremely puzzling, especially considering what Cousins and Noel went for.

its not just he improved his outside shooting, its seems that the man has for the most abandoned going to the rim, one of his most cherished aspects. being a good shooter is nice, but being a nice shooter without a drive game is severely volatile, as evidence by the Cleveland game where he was basically a complete anchor to the team succeeding. I think that's why Indiana is trying to trade him, its not like he's gonna become some Curry or Klay level shooter and its also unlikely he gets the mentality to be a dominant slasher again. basically means he peaked
