So why give him an extension if he was worn down from coaching? They could have easily just gave him an extension when transitioning him into the new role. You legit had this dude out here wasting a year of time with players knowing that his heart wasn't into it anymore.

This report makes it look even worse on all parties involved.

This the same nikka they were comparing to Pop? Soft.

Even with the not so great moves, I still think Ainge was one of the best front office guys in the league BUT staying in one place too long is never good for any team and they may also want to move on from Brad Stevens.

Yea he's like 45. There's coaches in their 70s and have been coaching for 50 years. Doesn't make sense.

He found it easier to coach in the NCAA where he could have the clear upper-hand over a bunch of unpaid recruits than in the NBA where players don't have to put up with his bullshyt, is my guess on what that really means.

I wouldn't hire white coaches from college like Stevens or Bielein to coach an NBA squad. I think they get used to that top-down approach to coaching and struggle to adjust to some degree when black players in the NBA don't respond to it.

I'm not saying that white college coaches can't win games in the NBA, but I think it's a culture clash for them that they are not suited to in the long run.
