Portland can be nice. Eugene isn't what I'd call nice. Bend is way out in the middle of nowhere, but it is nice. I'd say Corvallis is nicer than Eugene, but not much to do there.

Grew up near Corvallis, which to me is even more of a college town. No malls, not many name brand restaurants. Everything is centered around the college. As for Eugene it is college town for sure with more to do outside of the university. Haven't been in years, but had friends go there so spent a lot of time on their campus. I'm sure it's even dirtier now and more homeless and hippies.

Random observation but Prime's sons progressively got taller. Seen this in my family with some cousins where one of my uncle's and my aunt had 5 boys and they progressively got taller with each kid. From 5'10" to 6'4"
