Nothing is wrong with non action and dialogue heavy episodes. The problem comes when majority of that shyt isn’t interesting or entertaining. At least to me this episode was boring outside of Frank and Matt’s conversation. Hopefully the next episodes are better.

the reason season 2 was so ass is because they went too far with The Hand/Ninja stuff. That stuff just wasn’t entertaining at all.

I've been one of the most critical people of Disney since their god-awful shows for the MCU first came out.

I am no shill for the mouse and they have put out abysmally awful television shows for the last 3-4 years.

You can have your opinion and you're perfectly entitled to it I think the show is doing perfectly fine and it's exceeding or meeting the exact expectations I've had. It literally and not nitpicking the show is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

The dialogue is great. To me.

The show is dark they're letting the characters be rated R like they're supposed to and the story engaging.

I understand hating on Disney and rightfully so for the moves they made recently is the end thing to do but I also give credit where credit is due. I'm enjoying this show on its own merits.

Fisk is 10 times better than he was in Hawkeye and Echo

I'm not hating and I've already said I have NO PROBLEM with anyone liking this show.

My issue is y'all trying to act like Netflix show WASN'T an action crime drama show and acting like you cannot tell a good story/character building WITH action INCLUDED. Which is why people are expecting action and Murdoch in costume actually being Daredevil. Y'all know this and y'all also enjoyed watching that during the show's original release. So to start saying now that because people want action have ADD or don't appreciate storytelling or character building IS a DISNEY GASLIGHT .

Season 1-3 never went more than 1 episode without an action sequence or without Daredevil being in costume. Y'all were also not saying the show needed LESS action and LESS Daredevil in real time but now y'all suddenly are .

If y'all want to now say the OG series and especially season 3 was trash then I would respect that but y'all won't which how I y'all are in here LYING.

I think people are forgetting that this is their MCU debut.

Yes, the netflix stuff is technically canon. But this show is the new origin

That's exactly what happened and took place they forced his hand.

They knew he couldn't recast it either because it was so beloved so they had to make him swallow his pride and actually make a quality project for once on TV.

This show is showing a level of giving a damn more than these other series, as opposed to just pump something out we're Disney and Marvel and you got to deal with it

I’m probably overrating it a bit because I’m a native NYer, but I’m genuinely surprised at some of the themes they’ve chosen to tackle. Obviously none of this is on some David Simon level deconstruction, but it’s mature for Disney+ standards. Fisk is an almost on the nose representation of Trump/Giuliani. The White Tiger case has eerie similarities to the Central Park 5 case. It’s extra surprising because I didn’t think I’d see Disney fire back at conservatives after they were on Disney’s neck in recent years. Wealth disparity, racism, and police brutality are all addressed in ways I would not expect from this company and not as on the nose as it was in Cap & Winter Soldier. By no means is this a great show, but when measured against its peers, it’s trying to be more than a mere commercial for the next MCU movie

Season 2 wasn't ass, it was just trying to juggle TWO entirely different tasks in ONE season. They used DD2 as a backdoor pilot for Punisher and did all the origin story and heavy lifting there. And on the other side, tried to set up The Hand and flesh them out going into Defenders all the while Iron Fist exists, but it was hot garbage.

Either story alone would be a great season of television. Haphazardly shuffling them together over 13 episodes was the mistake. 6 episodes of DD/Punisher and 7 episodes of DD vs an undead ninja cult would have been great.
