you just pointed out the problem, derelict property owners who don't maintain the property or don't instruct their renters on how to keep it maintained.
slum lords are the same everywhere, whether they own a single family, 2-family, small complex or even a building.

YS doesn't have any upscale neighborhoods. Houses are just expensive here because people like the culture. all the houses are old af. Plus with the hippy population, you will find purple houses, houses covered in signs, and tacky shyt like that. AN affordable housing unit will not stand out
They like it that, gives the town a very unique feel. When tourists come here they like to shop because you will only find these businesses here.
Which is why local business owners are very active at council meetings, one house down the street from me decided to fill their lawn with potted plants (like still in the pots) instead of grass or bushes.

That’s why I’m glad I’m in an industry that allows me to see this. Them small town city council meetings be the most live lol. Don’t propose sone shyt they don’t want built on the area.. Them fools will come there just to cuss out the council then leave

this pandemic has revealed there are plenty of adults from all walks of life who behave childishly. some people just need to be instructed on what to do or they'll assume their actions are ok otherwise.
