Interesting how Dave is going out, fine to teach a lesson but he should’ve handled that better. You never look Good arguing with young people, he should’ve taken that as a moment to reflect on what they were saying. I do not tolerate grown ass rich ass adults white or Black telling Black children that their opinions don’t matter. It’s hurtful. If a white man talked to him like that he would understand why it’s in poor taste. Should young people be coddled? Nope but he didn’t need to say “fukk you I’m rich” when he’s raising Asian kids.

Like making fun of black crack heads?

Making fun of black people’s reparations?

Making fun of a kidnapped white 15 year old?

Making fun people living in the projects?

So all these were funny to you, but a few jokes about trans and gays is going too far?
The craziest thing to me is he made fun of Jewish people in his special and the whole conflict and even that didn’t gain traction. His point is being proven in real time.

Dude has become a parody of himself. Although my wife thinks this is the real Dave and the old days was the fake Dave.

Is fans are even more weird.

Dave arguing with a bunch of fukking KIDS and people in this thread like "yeah fukk them kids dave keeps it real":mjlol:
I think you’re reading the headlines and not the facts on the ground. It’s like the people who didn’t watch his special and read the headlines. I don’t care for arguing with kids at all. But I also don’t care for selected quotes taken out of context. But the bigger reason is obvious - he has support because people agree with him and just don’t want to say it out loud. His “correctness” supersedes all of the jokes.

Missed the point completely of course. I couldn’t give two shyts about those fags.

My post is about Chappelle’s approach to this whole situation. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but the lack of diplomacy he showed towards those ‘teenagers’, further solidifies his character (or lack of it rather).

I guess he truly sees himself as some kind of maverick now despite him saying himself many times “I don’t know. I don’t know.” I don’t think he even truly knows what he’s crusading for at this point. All I know is, when alt-right CACs views align with a black person’s, that tells me all I need to know. :hubie:

Why should he have to show diplomacy towards willful stupidity?

One of those teenagers actually had the gall to say “Your comedy kills”. That literally amongst the STUPIDEST shyt you could say.

It was quite obvious to anybody with a working brain what Dave was attempting to do with The Closer. And it wasn’t LGTBQ bash or take away their rights or agency. He even set the shyt up for us to follow the overall message with “Da Baby killing a black man vs speaking Homophobic language”, “Clifford The Bog Black ******”, “Space Jews” and then he literally SPELLED THE shyt OUT with “My problem has never been Gay people but WHITE people co-opting the movement as a white supremacist check move”

Its why he said recently that one of the conditions he had with meeting with members of the Trabs community was they had to watch the special from BEGINNING to END. Because all throughout that whole special he’s telegraphing what he’s trying to do. And if people can’t see how clear his message is then honestly they don’t deserve grace because their being intellectually dishonest with their outrage

Does this look like a group of traumatized teens or is it more likely that the story is a bunch of overhyped bullshyt by a couple of kids and some media assassins?

Again.. some kids just wanted an opportunity to yell at Dave and go viral. They don’t care about that man. They were very young when Dave was at the height of his success. These are the same kids that will proudly say they don’t know why Outkast are or anything popular from the early 2000’s.

I’ve always said That Charlie Murphy and Donnell Rawlings gave Chappelle the street cred he coveted. I say this as someone who loves Chappelle’s work but deep down, his values have always aligned more with conservative white republicans. He’s just “burdened” with being black, hence his cognitive dissonance.

Like I said, he’s a black Ben Shapiro now. Just embarrassing. How the might have fallen.
How? What are the black values that he doesn't align himself to? :jbhmm:

Wasn't that Stonewall shyt involving black gay people? You'd think it was about white gays the way that has be co-opted. Dave even said he respected those Stonewall nikkas. Dave knows history better than a lot of these people talking shyt.

These kids are raised by Twitter talking points. They actually believe the shyt we laugh at. That’s why I don’t fully agree with the whole “Twitter is not a real place” stance. Because these young kids don’t have any sense to know better.

I still remember a huge argument breaking out in 2018 cuz some 21 year old girl from Spelman said, “If black men led the movement instead of Harriet Tubman, we’d all still be slaves” in the middle of a spades game my friend was hosting. That’s when I realized these young kids are believing these Twitter talking points
Yup broke my own personal rule about engaging with people on twitter after some girl I was thinking of talking too (younger) called me a misogynistic over something stupid trivial.

The crazy part about it is every straight person who watched The Closer BEFORE the backlash came away with a greater sense of empathy for LGBTQ+ community. Then the backlash came and everyone Dave won over for a community that isn’t even his turned against that community because they see the bullshyt. The LGBTQ+ community started fighting a fight that wasn’t even there—their collective insecurity, however justified, got ahead of them and now they’re in a worse position than they would have been in with regard to public perception than if they’d have just let The Closer ride out.
-Facts. Not just this but the other shyt like it. Some people that were borderline allies & supporters are like fukk them now.
...They clapped at him, he clapped back. They got their feelings hurt, he eventually successfully moved on to the reason he was there. Only you and the overly sensitive kids (and their parents) who decided to get froggy are in their feelings about how it opened. Kids learned a valuable lesson that day. You start throwing stones, stones can be thrown back at you.
-This. These aren't toddlers.
Where are all these teens that support trans coming from? Like you dont talk about this shyt in school...
-Really? This shyt's def talked about in school & has affected curriculum in schools across the country. They're actively teaching kids to support this shyt.
Its clear the sensitive people are people like Dave who can't take criticism and project their sensitivities on the kids.
-This sounds dumb. It's clear the sensitive ones are the ones who started all this cause their feelings were hurt. Also the people in their feelings & upset he responds to his critics instead of letting them say whatever they want.

Weeks later and I’ve yet to see anyone post or discuss an actual funny joke from the special. You know, comedy? Making people laugh? The special seems more and more like a thought experiment to prove Dave, who remains obsessed with trans people who make up a small percentage of the population, can say what he wants.

The funny thing to me is that he won. Didn’t get cancelled. Didn’t have to fall back. Yet instead of seeing that and realizing cancel culture doesn’t truly exist, his loyalists aren’t satisfied. At this point you guys are just reactionaries, waiting to be offended. Oh man some kids criticized Dave and he clapped back at…some kids. So cool! Right on Dave!
:mjlol:

Meanwhile Dave out here chilling with a guy who called black people monkeys, and a billionaire whose family made their fortune off blood diamonds during Apartheid. Tell me, what would the old Dave think about that?

The most hilarious part about it is that the dudes championing Dave for going off against a random group of teenagers would be the same ones ready to fight and pop shyt if he did it to their own even if it was well warranted. Let a grown man get into an argument with one of your kids and see how you'd react.

nikka, if my kids were dumb enough to get offended by some jokes a comedian told about trannies, I'd hope he told them to shut the fukk upl :heh:

And the thing is, they are gonna CHANGE it to suit their image. The numbers are on their side, plus they got youth along the support. While the believers of the old ways, are gradually dwindling in population size. The ol' "You gotta learn to toughen up, cause the world ain't gonna change" has,now been overturned, and only a matter of years before these Gen Z kids take over completely.

Not if we smack these little b*stards the fukk up while they're still young:stopitslime:

See, most of these young people are impressionable and don't know any better.

There's just a small percentage of weirdo loons on social media who try to impose their will on everybody else that are making it seem like it's everyone on their side.

A lot of people either don't agree with them and stay quiet because they don't want the smoke or just are ambivalent.

We have to show them that this shyt aint tolerable:francis:

I mean that black klansman joke was so relatable. Oh and that white family with the last name n%^$#@ was so relatable too and that law in order skit where black criminals are treated like white criminals was so funny because we know that would never happen right?

I mean those jokes and skits were so funny because no ones feelings were hurt. Well except black people, but we know black peoples feeling can't be hurt because they aren't human...

*sarcasm off*

nikka, virtually no Black people were offended by any of that shyt.

I grew up in an all-Black neighborhood and you'd better believe every nikka had The chappelle Show DVD at their crib and watched that shyt over and over again.

All the gas stations and beauty shops had the bootlegs in their windows.

That shyt didn't become offensive until all you fake militant sensitive ass nikkaz started pretending to not understand jokes. :russ:

You're completely wrong.

The reason he was there is because his fundraiser and the naming of the school after him was being threatened and his movie has been canceled at all kinds of festivals and shyt.

And Dave hangs out with other standup comedians who say crazy shyt because they're . . . comedians who say crazy shyt because it's their jobs:stopitslime:

Have you nikkaz never heard of Richard Pryor?

Lenny Bruce?

George Carlin?

Eddie Murphy?

Chris Rock?:mindblown:

This wasn’t an argument though. This was a set-up by adults for kids to literally grab a microphone and disrespect a grown man. This wasn’t Dave going into a random high school and just cracking jokes on the first kid he saw. They were given a microphone and told to go up there and start trouble.

Whose to say that those kids didn’t have their own opinion about the situation and didn’t need a “set-up” from the adults to do so? Those kids have just as much right to say how they felt about the situation as Dave had the right to say the jokes in the first place.

It’s as if people still don’t grasp the concept of how free speech works in 2021.

Daves feelings are hurt because he has critics. All old comedians are mad because now they have critics. Like how most of them act like Twitter is worthless and fake but then spend most of their act complaining on how mean twitter is to them.

Criticism is fine. Trying to shut down people’s livelihood as a different thing altogether.

Dave and the directors who shot his movie got disinvited to a bunch festivals. That’s why he is showing his movie in Arenas so he can show the movie has legs and be able to sell it.

If you think a black man should lose his money and opportunities to appease a bunch of white men turned Karens, you nikkas are truly lost.

These the same Trans that would lock their doors if they saw y’all black asses walking by their car. :scust:
