"Pc culture" is just criticism. Like if you told a cac not to call you a ****** is not "pc culture" run amok like they will say it is.

You were against Michael richards getting gigs cancelled for calling those guys ******s in the crowd right? Thats PC culture canceling a man's livelihood to you right?

You're using the exception to prove the rule.

Kramer used the "N-word" in an extremely racist way as a slur.

That's not "PC Culture"

There's never been a time when calling a Black person a ****** as a slur has ever been tolerable, that's why you don't hear it on "Leave It To Beaver" or something.

That's totally different from destroying people's livelihoods for things that were universally considered okay just a few years ago, like questioning whether trans people are mentally ill loons (they are)

Breh he's a multimillionaire he's going to be ok. He will still make money

I'm not asking about dave chappelle, he hangs out with Joe Rogan and Elon musk so of course he's cool with hanging with racists.. I'm asking about you. You personally are ok what Kramer said and shouldn't have gotten any repercussions right?

Why do y'all think Cornel West would go on Joe Rogan's show if he was fire breathing racist the way y'all make it seem?

Joe Rogan seems to have been cool with lots of Black people over the years, not just Chappelle.

He was also cool with Patrice O'Neal and is cool with Kevin Hart

I'd hate to see what y'all would say about George Carlin or Lenny Bruce if they were alive today.

We used to understand that comedians say fukked up shyt:yeshrug:

Oh so if white comedians say the n word during a special you're cool with that. Like if a comedian did this bit today you would be perfectly fine with it and if any black person complained about this you would call them cancel culture pc warriors right?

And cancel culture always refers to minorities complaining. When the majority culture complains its normal, see Republicans canceling things every week, the satanic panic, many nikkas in here wanting to cancel lil nas x for the call me by your name video and Satan shoes

Cancel Culture is not "minorities complaining".

Cancel Culture is White liberals pretending to be offended FOR minorities.

Black people don't own the TV stations, radio stations, or corporate industries to "cancel" anybody.

White liberals use offense as a way to shut down everybody who doesn't agree with them.

They are only pretending to be offended for us.

Notice they don't care about Democrats mass incarcerating us or bombing Black people in Africa. They only use us as mascots in their football game against Republicans.

Check the sig, Malcolm called them out on it 60 years ago.

Weeks later and I’ve yet to see anyone post or discuss an actual funny joke from the special. You know, comedy? Making people laugh? The special seems more and more like a thought experiment to prove Dave, who remains obsessed with trans people who make up a small percentage of the population, can say what he wants.

The funny thing to me is that he won. Didn’t get cancelled. Didn’t have to fall back. Yet instead of seeing that and realizing cancel culture doesn’t truly exist, his loyalists aren’t satisfied. At this point you guys are just reactionaries, waiting to be offended. Oh man some kids criticized Dave and he clapped back at…some kids. So cool! Right on Dave!
:mjlol:

Meanwhile Dave out here chilling with a guy who called black people monkeys, and a billionaire whose family made their fortune off blood diamonds during Apartheid. Tell me, what would the old Dave think about that?
They can't and won't get this.

Trans population is what...1% of the population or less? Yet it's the biggest thing in Dave's world...out of literally everything else going on in the past few years :dead:

Dude is a sore winner with repressed issues.

One of your old posts about him I think addresses why he would be okay being in the presence of someone like Joe Rogan:
I'm not holding that against Mooney, who I'm not even a fan of. Chappelle said it best...as a comedian, he sympathized with Kramer because he's bombed a set before, been heckled and said wild shyt trying to be funny that ultimately backfired. Comedians stick together and defend each other, that shyt didn't surprise me even if I disagree.

I don’t necessarily agree with who he hangs around with either but I’m not seeing what I think you’re seeing when it comes to who Chappelle is or his brand of comedy. I think you’re convinced that he’s on an alt-right tip fighting back against “woke” culture when I haven’t seen anything to suggest that. Having questionable friends or associates isn’t necessarily indicative of anyone’s personal ideals or beliefs and in this particular case I wouldn’t say that it has any relation.

I’m kind of confused too because you’ve also said in multiple posts in relation to his special the Closer, that you’ve yet to watch it but every topic relating to either him or the reaction to the special since you’ve commented in while also maintaining that he’s having a fall from grace, which hasn’t really happened the way you insist. If you don’t like the special and think he’s beating a dead horse, I can understand and respect that opinion. But you’ve literally said across multiple topics that you haven’t seen it:
I wonder what George Carlin would think....

just saying. Haven't watched the new special yet but Chappelle has been hanging out with some...deplorable people lately...

It's not like Dave showed Netflix this special a couple weeks ago and they pressed the go button. This has been in the can for months. Dave was working on these jokes in early 2021, people tweeted about the JK Rowling thing way back then. They knew what they had, and were fine with it. They aren't gonna take it off Netflix. That's not happening. And frankly....I don't think anything that has happened will prevent them from attempting to get more content from Dave? More specials? A television series? Who knows. The special is doing what it was supposed to do. Drive conversation and views.

I haven't seen it yet. But I hope this is the final nail in the "cancel culture" bullshyt that people propagate. Cancel culture doesn't exist. People are conflating "cancel culture" with "people facing consequences for criminal acts or disgusting behavior." R Kelly wasn't cancelled - he's a child predator who is going to jail, and thus no one wants to associate with. Harvey Weinstein wasn't cancelled - he was convicted of sexual assault, and will die in prison. If I have any problem with Dave it's his constant conflating of these concepts. To the point he even gave Louis CK an opener slot during his last comedy tour. You know, the guy who sexually harassed multiple women and now tells weird jokes about how the PC police are out of control. Nah breh you showed your dikk to women and are a fukking creep...and frankly I find it wack that Dave is giving him a second chance, Dave has daughters right? And no, Louis CK isn't broke either. He's not out here starving in need of work. He never truly atoned for what he did.
Is Dave smarter than that? I’m not so sure. He’s out here hanging with straight up racists like Joe Rogan, spreading Covid misinformation and making weird comments about race. To the point I’m willing to entertain the arguments of these groups that are mad at him. I’ll watch the special this weekend and see for myself.

I can’t imagine Dave 20 years ago hanging with a guy who equated black people with monkeys. Something is up and you guys too busy laughing at the surface level shyt to realize it.
I haven't heard anyone relate an actual funny joke from the special, nor have I seen a single vid go viral from it with a funny joke. The entire discussion of the special is that it's "great" because Dave is saying whatever he wants. It's like praising a rap song for being lyrical miracle but...is it a good song or not? Where's "the funny"? Finding "the funny" used to be quite easy with a Dave special. He started with funny, got serious but mixed in funny, and then ended with more funny. Think about...the "how old is 15, really" bit and how funny that special was before, during and after that semi serious portion.

I haven't seen the new special. The previous Netflix ones weren't super funny, but had interesting and even fascinating moments. They were more interesting in what Dave was saying or trying to say. But even some of that was clumsy. I see people constantly bringing up Carlin, who got more serious in his later years...but Carlin never punched down on marginalized groups. And until someone can explain to me how trans people aren't marginalized because you can't denigrate them without facing consequences...I will remain puzzled by Dave's obsession with this. Like, there's so much going on in the world but you're still on trannies and gay nikkas?

@Ziggiy’s post basically summed it up already but he literally said in the special that his problem had never been with the LGBTQ community, it’s been with the hypocrisy with how they’re treated by society as opposed to how Black Americans are treated. He literally posed the question of why is it easier for Caitlyn Jenner to change genders than for Cassius Clay to change his name to underline that point.

I think overall your ideology is that Dave has become an extension of some of the people who we see him around when I don’t see or believe that to be the case at all. I think the material in the Closer lines up with everything else he’s done in his career, poking fun at and shedding insight on sensitive issues while also doing it with a level of wit and grace. I would implore you to finally actually watch the special so you can see for yourself what the controversy is about and decide if the weight of the reactions to it are appropriate as opposed to solely going off of blurbs and headlines that are lacking context and subtext.

Or may be it’s because one his friends is trans and opened up the show for him that caused all his controversy and committed suicide after defending him on social media? You guys are doing a whole lot of virtue signaling and ignoring basic human nature. If one of your friends get “cancelled” by their own community for defending you and is attacked on social media every day - that shyt might stay on your mind. You might end up saying bro - the only person harmed from my jokes is my friend with mental health issues that you berated for saying that I’m an ally and a good guy online. The person who had a child that I’m now taking care of, but instead you guys want to copy and paste generic talking points. I wouldn’t waste my breath on it but to pretend like as a human being you wouldn’t feel a way is crazy.

Yeah, the problem with that that is, it was a focal point for him both before and after Daphne committed that, which is exactly why this topic is dead horse status at this point. Dude even said in the latest special that he was "done talking about it" but here we are.

At this point, I'm on some Carmine shyt: it's settled, Dave. Lay some flowers on Daphne's grave, buy a trans-hooker to sate your curiosities and get the fukk over it. :unimpressed:

Yes, I still haven't seen the special and make no declarations on its goodness or badness, because I haven't seen it. My point was moreso that weeks later nobody is talking about "wow that was such a funny special." Instead the discussion is entirely about Dave sticking it to a group certain people don't like, gleefully/nervously awaiting word on whether Dave is going to be cancelled, and celebrating his apparent victory as a win against censorship/cancel culture while simultaneously still pretending like cancel culture exists; if it exists, why didn't Chappelle get cancelled. Normally with a comedy special something goes viral right? A joke, a moment, a segment, something. I just find it interesting that isn't the case here.

In terms of whether this is about woke-ness or not, how can you deny it? The cancel culture thing is all about that, and he literally pals around with the folks at the forefront of hating on it. I got no issue with comedians hanging with comedians but not only isn't Rogan funny, he's on record making racist jokes about black people and let a guest argue black people are inherently violent based on genetics without pushing back at all. Like...this is the crux of my problem. Black people thinking these cacs are your friend. This "we should be civil and be able to say anything we want, and discuss issues as men" shyt sounds good on paper, until a Nazi sits down at the table. And there are too many cases of guys like Rogan having no problem with straight up racists, straight up mad men (Alex Jones), etc just because they fancy themselves to be open minded. That's my issue here and why I've raised my eyebrows at Chappelle's company lately.

Dave Chappelle is an 'LGBTQ ally,': family of late trans comedian

Dave Chappelle is an ‘LGBTQ ally,’ says family of late trans comedian

The family of a late transgender comedian at the center of Dave Chappelle’s controversial new Netflix special threw their support behind him, saying he’s a misunderstood “LGBTQ ally.”

Critics have panned Chappelle for cracking transphobic jokes in “The Closer,” which concludes with a segment dedicated to his late trans pal Daphne Dorman.

But Dorman’s sisters Brandy and Becky are defending the Emmy-winning funnyman, with Brandy saying on Facebook that his “message was lost in translation,” The Daily Beast reported.

“Dave loved my sister and is an LGBTQ ally,” Brandy added in a text to the outlet, referring to Daphne, who killed herself while under attack for sticking up for Chappelle over his earlier gags about the trans community.

“His entire set was begging to end this very situation,” she said.

Brandy added on Facebook, “I feel like he poured his heart out in that special and no one noticed.

“What he’s saying to the LGBTQ family is, ‘I see you. Do you see me? I’m mourning my friend in the best way I know how. Can you see me? Can you allow me that?’” she wrote, calling the set a “call to come together.”

In the roughly hour-long special, Chappelle quips about joining “Team TERF!” — the acronym for trans-exclusionary radical feminist and reference to “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling — and says he agrees with her that “gender is a fact.”

Chappelle’s gags have sparked a cancel campaign to get Netflix to dump his shows.

But in texts to The Daily Beast, Becky said her late sister “was in awe of Dave’s graciousness.”

“She did not find his jokes rude, crude, off-coloring, off-putting, anything. She thought his jokes were funny,” she wrote of her rookie comedian sister, who Chappelle had invited to open for him at shows. “Daphne understood humor and comedy — she was not offended. Why would her family be offended?”

Chappelle drew gasps from the audience when he revealed how Dorman, 44, jumped off the roof of a building in October 2019 while she was still being “dragged” online for defending his trans jokes on that year’s “Sticks & Stones” show.

“My heart was broken,” he said, saying that while he does not know why she killed herself “I bet dragging her didn’t help.”

He proudly recalled the tweet Dorman posted defending him from accusations that his material about trans people was “punching down.”

“Punching down requires you to consider yourself superior to another group,” Dorman had tweeted Aug. 29, 2019. “@DaveChappelle doesn’t consider himself better than me in any way. He isn’t punching up or punching down. He’s punching lines. That’s his job and he’s a master of his craft.”

Chappelle called it a “beautfiul tweet” by a “beautiful friend.”

“The hardest thing for a person to do is go against their tribe … It took a lot of heart to defend me like that,” he said.

“I don’t know what the trans community did for her,” Chappelle said. “But I don’t care, because I feel like she wasn’t their tribe. She was mine. She was a comedian in her soul.”

Becky insisted that “Dave was the biggest bright spot for Daphne” before her suicide.

“Blaming Dave is beyond the wrong thing to do,” she told The Daily Beast. “He helped her and let her be comfortable while talking with him. She had many demons; Dave Chappelle was NOT one of them.”

Neither have been cancelled, neither had to fall back, both still have millions on top of millions.

The only thing that's been destroyed is the brains of you overzealous fans needing a boogeyman to help fuel your ever growing victim complex.

nikka been talking about this shyt for 3 specials straight and most people have seen maybe 3 transgenders their whole life.

Swear to God I aint never talked about these people this much until this nikka drops a new special.

He wasn’t making it a focal point before her. He roasted everyone in that first special back and trans people were the one group who got mad. So he responded in his second special. And then he got even more backlash despite his supposed clarification so then he sits down and says look - all I’m wondering is why LGBT issues are put over black issues. That was his literally most of the damn special. nikkas like @Piff Perkins writing titangraphs while admitting that he hasn’t seen the special. The reason you’re hearing about this is because while every other group laughed and moved on one particular faction decided to protest him and stage a walk out. If anything he should stop talking about that group because he knows how that group will react. nikka even talked about the gay community and not canceling DaBaby - like why isn’t that community upset? It’s remarkable how annoying everyone is in this.

Bullshyt, those trannies are showing up at JK Rowling's house and threatening her and even those ungrateful ass little b*stards she made rich from the movies have disavowed her.

She wasn't even invited to the event they just had to celebrate her own creation.

Dave's movie has been pulled from festivals all over the country over this shyt.

Dave talks about everybody.

You fakkits don't even realize he talked about Jews just as much as he talked about trannies in the special because even they are less bytch made than your asses.

The issue isn't Dave talking about his continual harrassment from this community,. the issue is the harassment that him and JK Rowling have faced.

People have literally confronted Chappelle in public looking to start fights with him over this shyt, but it's on him to just "let it go".
