You sound wholly ignorant. Throughout his career, Dave has had to navigate audiences of many different kinds (from different races, socioeconomic statuses, cultures, ages, etc). Dave knows what he’s doing.

These are HS kids. They’re closer to college kids than elementary school kids. They’re at that age where protesting for some altruistic principle is pretty much a rite of passage. Stop pretending that they’re some Rubric’s Cube that Dave can’t figure out with his decades of experience in the limelight. The fact that you’re saying they should have been met with kiddie gloves is part of the problem: Stop coddling these kids! Let them come of age! Better they learned this lesson now in a safe space like a gym auditorium.

Nah, I can agree that using the “I got more money than you” attack is lame, but we don’t know how it was delivered. Seeing that he was there as motivational success story it could’ve been delivered more to that effect. But I do agree that the way it’s written just comes off as salty. So that’s fine to criticize that line of jokes, but don’t see the merit in crying for these kids who got their feelings hurt.
