It was a studio album that got switched to an ep

None of the songs meant for the album made the EP. Jacc Boy, Get You Shot, I Ain't Going, etc. It's not his studio album he's sitting on a lot of songs, and has big name features (Drake), and producers (No I.D.) he's working with.

Now there's no different between mixtape, albums, EP's, playlists its all original music the only thing that changes is budgets, sample clearance, promo roll out, things of that nature.
